Congress leader from Haryana Vidyarani Danoda urged Congress leaders and workers to supply liquor to the farmers’ protest site in Delhi and keep the agitation alive.
Vidyarani was addressing a meeting of Congress workers in Haryana on Sunday.
She also reminded the party workers that after the defeat of the party in October 2019 assembly elections, the party was nearly finished. But, these farmers’ agitation has given an opportunity to resurrect the party.
“The agitation was nearly finished after the January 26 violence in Delhi. But, somehow it survived.” She urged the party workers not to waste the opportunity and use it for the revival of the party.
Danoda has twice contested for the Assembly in Haryana on Congress ticket.
The farmers’ are sitting on Delhi border, agitating against the three progressive farm laws passed by the Union government.
There have been multiple reports of the protests being infiltrated by the Khalistanis and other anti-social elements. The agitating farmers indulged in large scale violence in Delhi on January 26.
The government had multiple rounds of negotiations with the protesting farmers’ but to no avail. It also offered the protesting farmers to suspend the new laws for 18 months. But, the agitating farmers have been continuously shifting the goal post.
