The wife of journalist S V Pradeep, who was killed in a hit and run accident on Tuesday, has expressed dissatisfaction over the latest police findings that rule out the possibility of external interference in the accident. Pradeep was a firebrand journalist who did multiple exclusives about the wrongdoings of the Kerala state government and Islamic fundamentalist organisations. Soon after his death, his family alleged suspicion about his death since Pradeep had received threat calls for his exclusive news stories.

Though no final conclusions are yet made, Kerala police have ruled out conspiracy angle. This goes in contrast with the allegation of family members that this was a staged murder.

“In the last couple of days, he was under tremendous pressure. He was being pressurized to withdraw his plea for a CBI probe into the honey-trap case. Only after his death, it emerged that the plea was withdrawn,” said Sheeja, the wife of Pradeep. She also said that the police was focusing only on the driver, but a high-level team should be formed to find out the conspiracy behind this murder. A special team will be recreating the accident scene to check whether there was any foul play behind the accident. The scene will be recreated with experts from SET Engineering College, Pappanamcodemonitoring it.
