Thiruvananthapuram: Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai has said that the apprehensions aired by the Christian community regarding very low proportion of funds from National Minority Education were briefed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was speaking at a function organised at Kerala Rajbhavan to release his latest book “Justice to all, Prejudice to none”. The book was formally released by the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan by handing over a copy to Major Arch Bishop Cardinal George Alanchery. The book also includes two articles written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sreedharan Pillai said that while a particular community is receiving 80% of the aid, other minority communities including the Christian community, are receiving aid as low as 20 per cent. He also said that the Prime Minister will be meeting a delegation of Christian Bishops. He also said that the Christian community will be given equal justice.

The Mizoram Governor said that he had written eighteen books including a collection of poems in both English and Malayalam during the Covid lockdown period and said that he had found his soul by expressing his idea and thoughts by writing them down. He said that his collection of English poems “Oh Mizoram” will be released by the Vice President Venkiah Naidu in New Delhi on December 18.

Sreedharan Pillai said that the Government of India is providing all assistance to North Eastern states and added that for the 3.2% population of North Eastern States, the Union government has earmarked 10 per cent of its budget.

Speaking at the occasion, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said that Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty and called upon people to be ever vigilant. He said that India is not a country of 75 years of age and added that it is an ancient civilization which had survived the times. He also said that Indians cannot discriminate people owing to its culture and tradition. He said that Indian heritage demands people to see God in everyone.

Arif Mohammed Khan also said that India was a centre of learning and wisdom and added that Dharma is empathy and wisdom. Cardinal George Alanchery of the Syro Malabar Church, Swami Golokananda of Sree Ramakrishna Mission, Hari S Kartha and TH Valsaraj spoke during the occasion.
