Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party Youth wing president Waheed-ud-Rehman Para was arrested by the National Investigation Agency for his links with banned terror outfits. He was being grilled by the NIA in connection with the suspended DSP Devinder Singh terror case. PDP Youth Wing president Waheed-ur-Rehman Para was arrested by NIA after two days questioning at Delhi Headquarter, in connection with suspended J&K Police DSP Davinder Singh terror case,” read an official statement.
While responding to this news, J&K president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ravinder Raina criticised the PDP leadership for maintaining ties with anti-national elements. Speaking to Republic TV on Wednesday, Ravinder Raina said, “There were authentic reports with the NIA and sufficient evidence. This was the mystery in Kashmir that on one hand, these people are in the public life as political leaders and on other hand, they were having links with Pakistani terror outfits. All terrorists in the Kashmir valley want it to bleed. They are the enemies of the people of Kashmir.”
NIA has founded that Para had ties with the Hizbul Mujahedeen and aided its operation in South Kashmir in 2019. He is said to have kept close ties with Hizbul commander Naveed Babu and advocate Irfan Shafi Mir. In the meantime, NIA had also raided several NGOs based in Kashmir for their alleged aiding of terrorist activities in the valley.
DSP Davinder Singh was arrested early this year for planning to carry out multiple terror attacks in various parts of the nations including Delhi. Delhi police had found a charge sheet saying that the youth of Kashmir and Punjab were lured into terrorist organisations for carrying out large scale attacks here.
