These will be sold ahead of Diwali. The scheme called the Gau Maya Diya is aimed to help cattle farmers additional income through environment-friendly products.

The aayog has asked gaushalas, women’s groups, cooperatives and voluntary organizations for supply of divyas. According to Vallabh Kataria, chairman of the aayog, this is the first time that a scheme of this massive scale is being implemented. He hoped that it would be a success. He said implementing schemes that will enhance income of farmers is one of the mandates of the aayog.
