In a startling revelation, CPM Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son and actor Bineesh Kodiyeri’s name has emerged in the Bengaluru drug case on Friday.
According to reports, one of the arrested accused – a drug peddler – Mohammed Anoop has named Bineesh in his voluntary statement to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Anoop claimed that Bineesh and another friend helped him financially in opening the ‘Hyaat restaurant’ in Bengaluru in 2018. Bineesh has close ties with Rijesh Raveendran and Anoop Mohammed, the main accused who were arrested in the case. Bineesh has confessed to the media that he knows Anoop.
Kerala Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala questioned Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan’s neglect on the allegation raised against Bineesh Kodiyeri over Bengaluru drug bust case. Chennithala said, “There are reports stating connections between drug trafficking mafia and gold smuggling case accused. According to reports, one of the accused in the gold smuggling Ramees had contacted Anoop several times. The accused in the gold smuggling case had also went into hiding in Bengaluru. Swapna Suresh’s connection with the drug racket has to be investigated.”
The Congress leader also demanded CPM state general secretary’s son Bineesh Kodiyeri’s alleged involvement in the gold smuggling case and drug bust case to be probed. Chennithala said that the police did not investigate the night party held at Kottayam. Three accused Anikha, Muhammad Anoop and Rijesh Raveendran were arrested by police in Bengaluru last week in connection with drug trafficking. On September 2, Muslim Youth League state general secretary, PK Firoz alleged that Bineesh Kodiyeri has close links with the drug peddler who was arrested.
Meanwhile, the Customs will interrogate K T Rameez, the mastermind behind the Kerala gold smuggling case, which rocked the state over the alleged involvement of Chief Minister’s office in the case, after his name emerged in the Bengaluru drug case. Rameez has alleged links with Kochi native Anoop Mohammad who was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) with drugs at Bengaluru.
