Pakistan?s Corona Kabristan: 80 Acres of Separate Burial Ground in Karachi for Corona Death

Pakistan’s Sindh Government has created a new graveyard in Karachi, to bury those who would die from Corona virus. Till April 1, nine people killed in Sindh province due to the Chinese virus. The government has allocated land at Link Road- a road connecting Super Highway and National Highway in the city- for the graveyard, which is spread over 80 acres.
The first Corona virus victim has been buried in this graveyard.
According to Pakistani-based news channel overall 230 cases of Corona virus have been confirmed in Karachi with most cases reported from Saddar locality of the city. At the same time, the Corona virus cases in Pakistan crossed the 2,400 mark on April 3. Authorities are struggling to prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic.
The country has registered 35 deaths due to this global epidemic. Pakistan’s largest Punjab province has 920 cases, 783 in Sindh, 311 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 169 in Balochistan, 190 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 68 in Islamabad and nine in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The number of cases is increasing daily despite partial lockdown for more than a week in Pakistan. To curb the virus, the government had issued a notification to limit the number of people attending Friday prayers and other religious meetings.
