People from all across the country have responded to the PM’s call to contribute to the relief fund to fight Corona. Several top actors, sport stars, prominent people from other walks fo lives have declared their contribution. Now, even laborers of teh Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) which consists of many small time workers from various industries, has come forward and contributed to the PM’s relief fund. They are also in the forefront of providing food and other essentials to the needy who have been affected by the lockdown.
In response to the call given by Central BMS to donate one day Salary or Pension to Prime Minister’s Corona Relief fund, some of the affiliated Unions have started contributing money. In this regard, some Unions have already sent letters to concerned authorities to deduct their salary as the donation to PMs Fund. In other places BMS activists themselves took the initiative and approached their management in this regard.
Till now, BMS unions from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh have reported that their employees have already contributed their one day salary for the aforementioned purpose.
Following affiliated unions of BMS have donated their salary of 1 day:
– 28000 Employees of Delhi Parivahan Mazdoor Sangh
– 500 Employees of Power Grid Karmachari Sangh
– 3700 Employees of ARTEE Doordarshan Employees
– 2800 Employees of AIR & DD Tech. Employees Association
– 100 Employees of Modi Nagar Sugar Mill Karmachari Sangh, Uttar Pradesh.
– 230 Employees of Currency & Coins Karmachari Sangh, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
– 550 Employees of Ayudh Nirmani Mazdoor Sangh, Dehradun, Uttarakhand
– 30000 Employees of Aanganwadi Karmachari Sangh
– 25000 Employees of Aanganwadi Karmachari Sangh, Jammu & Kashmir (Jammu Region)
– 300 Employees of NBCC Officers Association, Delhi
Following affiliated unions of BMS have donated their salary of 2 days:
– 32000 Employees pf IOCL Hq Union, Delhi
– Employees of IOCL Refinery Union
Besides these contribution, 5500 Employees of NALCO Karmachari Sangh, Odisha consisting of 5 Unions have contributed their salary of 3 days.
Relief activity by BMS
In many locations, BMS activists have started relief activity for those affected by the Lock down. From helping the needy with food items and other essentials to educating people and helping those in need, the BMS activists have lent great support for the cause.
In Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, State President Sri M.Shravan Kumar has donated food provisions for 15 Auto Workers for a week. It will be continued in next couple of weeks also.
At Baddi of Himachal Pradesh, State Working President Sri Melaram Chandel has contributed Rs 51,000/ to PM Relief Fund and is also bearing 2 Months house rent of 30 daily wage workers who are staying in a labour colony.
In Delhi, BMS senior Karyakarta & Defence Employee Sri Virender Sharma has started distributing food packets twice a day for 150 families since 25th March. This will continue up to 14th April 2020.
Shri. Melaram Chandel, Working President, Himachal Pradesh has controbuted to 2 Months’ Rent of 30 Daily wages workers amounting to Rs.51,000/-
Shri Shravan Kumar, Andhra Pradesh State President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Guntur is contributing 10Kg Rice, 1 Kg Oil, 1 Kg Dal, and Biscuits to 15 Auto drivers every day.
Shri Virender Sharma, All India Secretary, Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mahasangh (BPMS) ,Delhi, is contributing food twice a day for 150 needy people from 25th March to 14th April.
