A one day seminar on ‘Air Power in No War No Peace Scenario’ was organised by the Centre for Air Power to mark the anniversary of Balakote air strike. The seminar focused on employability of air power in situations necessitating exertion of national will against adversary in a ‘No War No Peace’ scenario. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh while inaugurating the seminar paid rich tributes to the successful strikes carried out by Indian Air Force leading to destruction of terrorist camp of ‘Jaish-e-Mohammad’ in POK. He said, “India had been seen as a country that did not respond adequately to terrorism despite grave provocations. The surgical strike of 2016 and air strike of 2019 at Balakot changed that perception once and for all”. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat delivered the keynote address.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria addressing the gathering said, in 2019 the Government took bold decision to strike at the heart of terrorist training camps inside Pakistan. Use of air power in a sub-conventional scenario was a paradigm shift. He lauded the political and diplomatic efforts to quickly deescalate the situation. He described Pakistan’s response after 30 hours as an effort to satisfy the domestic audience. Appreciating the coordination among various organisations in carrying out the successful air strikes, he said there was a calibrated effort to ensure that there were no civilian casualties.
