Mahant Nritya Gopal Das elected chairman of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust; Several other key decisions taken in Trust’s first meeting

Apart from key appointment, the Trust also paid tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives for Ram Janmabhoomi since CE 1528.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust held its first meeting on Wednesday. In one of its primary decisions Mahant Nritya Gopal Das has been elected as the chairman of the trust. VHP Senior Vice President Champat Rai gave the information about the Trust’s decisions to the media after the meeting. The first meeting was held at the residence of Senior Advocate K. Parasaran.
Among the key decisions of the trust, Champat Rai, Senior Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) was given the responsibility of Secretary of the Trust. Govind Dev ji Giri Ji Maharaj of Poona was elected as the Trust’s treasurer. The Trust was constituted on February 5th by PM Narendra Modi’s government as per the orders of the Supreme Court.
In the meeting, Nripendra Mishra, former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was made the head of the Temple Construction Committee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. It was also decided in the meeting that a bank account will be opened in the State Bank of India (SBI) branch of Ayodhya to receive donations for the construction of Ram temple. However, it has not been decided yet as to when the construction of the temple will begin. The next meeting will be held in Ayodhya in which the date of construction of the temple could be announced.
Shankar Iyer & Co. of New Delhi was entrusted with the responsibility of being the Trust’s Chartered Accountant. The company will carry out statutory functions related to trust accounts. In the meeting, it was decided that the trust’s bank account will be operated by joint signatories of the Trust namely, Govind Dev Giri ji, Champat Rai, Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra. Additional Secretary Home Department Gyanesh Kumar attended the meeting as a representative of the Government of India.
Apart from the members of the trust, President of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Nritya Gopal Das, Ayodhya District Magistrate Anuj Jha and Principal Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi also attended this first meeting of Shri Ram Mandir Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Both these officers represented the meeting on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. K. Parasaran, Swami Vasudevanand Ji Maharaj, Swami Parmanand Ji Maharaj, Swami Vishwan Prasantiratha Ji Maharaj, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji, Mahant Dinendra Das Ji Maharaj, Vimalendra Mohan Pratap, Dr. Anil Pratap Mishra and Kamleshwar Chaupal were also present in the meeting.

Key Decisions in meeting
1. The Chairman of the Trust, General Secretary, and Treasurer, were elected along with the Chairman of the Temple Construction Committee.
2. Ram Mandir Trust account to be opened in Ayodhya branch of State Bank of India.
3. The temple will be built on the format decided by VHP and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas
Tribute paid to those who sacrificed their lives for Ram Janmabhoomi
At the first meeting of the Trust, rich tributes were paid to all the Sants, Ram devotees, and Kar sevaks who gave their lives since CE 1528, for rebuilding the magnificent Ram temple at Ayodhya. Gratitude was also expressed to the constructive role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the Trust also expressed its confidence in the country’s Constitutional institutions and judicial system.
Ram Lalla will be shifted before temple construction
The head priest of the present Ram temple, Acharya Satyendra Nath, has informed that when the construction of the temple starts, the statue of Ram Lalla will be shifted to another site near Manas Bhawan. He told that for the temple construction work to begin, the existing temple site has to be vacated so that the construction work is not interrupted. A temporary temple will be built near the Manas Bhawan where the deity will remain until the grand temple is built, he informed.
