Allah and Prophet do not like exhibitionism of Muslim women in the name of CAA protests: Sunni-Islamic leader asks women to step back from anti-CAA protests

Muslim women taking to streets with raised fist and shouting slogans in the name of anti-CAA protests are against Islam, said Kerala Sunni Yuvajana Sangham (SYF) secretary Abdul Hamid Faizi.

Lambasting the protesting Muslim women, the Sunni leader said in a Facebook post that exhibitionism of women on the streets and mingling with men in the name of anti-CAA protests cannot be allowed by any means.

“Both Allah and Prophet Muhammad do not like such protests. Who will come to our rescue if religious tenets are violated? How can we be protected by Allah? Without Allah’s help, how can Modi or Amit Shah help us?,” he asked in the Facebook post.

Referring to a protest rally organised by a nearby Masjid mohalla committee, Abdul Faizi said that he was taken aback seeing the visuals of Muslim women protesting along with men. “It was very regrettable and this ‘new culture’ is highly dangerous”, he said.

“Islam forbids intermingling of men and women. Since it is not sanctioned even during prayers, how can it be allowed at colleges, clubs, offices and meetings,” asks the Islamic scholar.

The statement has invited sharp criticism from the members of radical Islamic outfits like Popular Front of India and Jamaat-e-Islami, who drive Muslim women and children to the forefront of anti-CAA protests— taking a cue from anti-national protests in Jammu and Kashmir.
