The Fit India Campaign will save millions of Indians from diseases, untimely deaths and sufferings. The campaign will help develop public playgrounds in every locality. People will learn to maintain a public playground for health and happiness. Ultimately good health and sound mind will boost the productivity of the country.
 – Sudhansu R Das

Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched the much needed “Fit India Campaign” which will help Indians enhance their fitness level, creative ability and productivity level. The fit India campaign will inspire millions of Indians to do regular physical exercise. One of the most indefatigable Prime Ministers of the world, Narendra Modi has set an example of his remarkable stamina and endurance capacity before the country.

The Prime Minister has addressed an average two rallies in a day during his marathon election campaign during the 2014 Lok Sabha election which had decimated Congress and many regional parties in India. PM Modi conducted 425 rallies between September 2013 and May 10, 2014, which is an unbelievable human feat. He had conducted 142 rallies and flew over 1.5 lakh kilometer during the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign. His discipline, dietary habit, regular yoga and physical exercise has kept him fit and strong for nation-building. Prime Minister Modi has inspired millions of Indians to practice Yoga and Suryanamaskar in order to make India happy and strong.

The Fit India Campaign will save millions of Indians from diseases, untimely deaths and sufferings. He has already bind people in Yoga Sutra and now the Fit Indian campaign will cement caste and language divide across the country. Prime Minister Modi who was an RSS Pracharak is introducing the best HR tools of the RSS Sakha among people. The RSS in its daily one hour Sakha teaches Surya Namaskar and Yoga to millions of people irrespective of caste, language and religions. Besides these two things, the RSS also teaches youth how to play various indigenous games that have a positive impact on the human body and minds. For example, playing Kabadi is an integral part of RSS activity, which builds courage, alertness and physical stamina. Kabadi has once again become popular in the country. The low-cost game has immense potential to transform India into a bold and energetic country. Besides, the RSS teaches patriotism as its daily prayer starts with “Namaste Sada Vastale Matrubhumi…”

Fit India campaign will help develop public playgrounds in every locality. People will learn to maintain a public playground for health and happiness. Ultimately good health and sound mind will boost the productivity of the country. Recently India has emerged as a world badminton power. For the first time, P V Sindhu has won the world cup title in Badminton. India has regained its lost glory in hockey. It has increased its medal tally in both Asian and Olympic games.

Cutting across caste, language and religions, Indians are celebrating the International yoga day on 21 June every year with lots of enthusiasm. Prime Minister Modi himself is an avid Yoga practitioner and his personal appeal has motivated millions of people to practice yoga. As yoga has become a way of life, more and more Indians are enjoying the happiness and peace. The main objective of every economic model is to increase the happiness level. India has all the potential to become a five trillion dollar economy in 2022 with happy people.

Prime Minister Modi has launched the Fit India Program at the opportune moment. The message is “wealth has no meaning without health and fitness.” Over the decades, India has become home to the world’s largest number of diabetic patients mainly due to the growth of sedentary jobs. Fit India campaign will reverse the trend and bring people to the playground again. There are income generating jobs in every sector. If people remain fit they can work in their fruit orchard, agriculture farms, go for fishing, do gardening and pursue their hobbies and research activities.

Every 5000 people deserve a playground to keep themselves fit and strong. Similarly every five villages should have one community playground so that the youth can play football, kabadi, volleyballs and the low cost indigenous games. Swimming is the most cost effective way to keep one fit. India has more than 12000 big and small rivers, hundreds of lakes and ponds which can be revived to boost the swimming sport. India’s 7516 km coastline provides scope for swimming.

So far India has not won a single medal in Olympic game in a swimming event in spite of having the natural infrastructure for swimming. This is high time for the country to make use of its natural water bodies to win Olympic medals. Another very low cost and effective way to fitness is cycling. The country should have dedicated cycle tracks like Denmark, Europe and Japan to boost fitness level of people as well as tourism. Cycle track can save huge foreign currency towards the import of petrol. The success of the fit India program depends on the relentless effort of the voluntary organisation across the country.
