Hundreds of people residing in slums were benefitted from it. At Chennammana Kere in Shankarapuram, the camp was organised in association with the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology and Sevakirana to specially assess and diagnose cancer amongst the slum dwellers.
The swayamsevaks in Mangaluru organised a blood donation camp and collected over 150 units of blood. The donors received seed balls in return. The swayamsevaks in Puttur devoted time towards planting saplings and over 60 saplings were planted. At Chikamagalur, the swayamsevaks cleaned up the burial ground which had unwanted weeds and plants. Local MLA Sri CT Ravi also joined.
In Kolar, the swayamsevaks cleaned a Kalyani (stepped tank) that was filled with garbage and soil. The Kalyani was once a major source of water for the nearby residents and was left to dry over a period of time. The residents came together and thanked the swayamsevaks for this effort. The effort put in by the swayamsevaks at a crucial time of onset of monsoon would help in collecting water in the Kalyani thus help increase the water table.
The swayamsevaks in Hubballi, with the help of locals, planted a variety of saplings in the park. In Hubballi, the Sanghik was conducted with over 250 swayamsevaks taking part in learning the way of seed ball creation. They made close to 5400 seed-balls.
