The Manduadih railway station in Uttar Pradesh has got an unbelievable facelift. Now it looks less like a railway station and more like an international airport terminal!
Other than beautification, the newly-revamped railway station has become truly world-class level in providing various passenger-friendly amenities also.
Several new facilities including Indian Railways include LED lights, air-conditioned waiting lounge and stainless steel benches, have been provided.
The beautification initiatives like fountains have given an spectacular look to one of the most prominent railway stations in India. Manduadih Railway Station, a terminal station of Varanasi, is situated in Manduadih area of Varanasi. Because of huge rush at Varanasi Junction, the railway was developed as a high facilitated terminal. Recently National Flag of India hoisted in Manduadih Railway Station.
Now the station has a spacious waiting area, circulating area, booking/reservation office, cafeteria, food court, waiting rooms and more.
The station also has AC lounge, AC and non-AC retiring rooms as well as dormitories. The architecture in the station premises reflects the spirit of Kashi. The platforms are clean and shining with LED lights and LCD display panels. Now, this station also provides huge employment opportunities to Varanasi citizens.
The Manduadih railway station has eight platforms and currently, eight trains originate from the station. According to the reports, the NDA government plans to rename the Manduadih station as ‘Banaras’ railway station. Former Union Minister for railways Manoj Sinha had written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requesting him to consider the renaming of the station.
In February, Railway minister Piyush Goyal shared the video of the station in a tweet which stated, “Manduadih Station of Varanasi is providing a new experience for travellers with its cleanliness and beautification, world-class facilities. This station, which revives the ancient glory of Kashi, is going to be one of the most beautiful stations in the country.”
Varanasi, also known as Kashi- the spiritual capital of India, is represented in the Parliament of India by the current Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. A major religious hub in India, it is the holiest of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism and Jainism, and played an important role in the development of Buddhism and Ravidassia. Soon after the NDA came to power, the historic city of Varanasi became a hub of development, with sanctioning massive development projects to the city.
