As the last phase of elections concluded on Sunday, eight surveys conducted by various agencies predicted that the BJP-led NDA will return to power with a comfortable majority. Four out of eight surveys suggest that the BJP will get a clear majority on its own.
Meanwhile, the Congress-led UPA is struggling to cross its tally from 44 in 2014, exit polls by TV channels have predicted.
The projections clearly show that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party.
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Arun Jaitley today said that when multiple exit polls convey the same message, the direction of the result broadly will be in consonance with the message.
Political activities have gained momentum in the National Capital, with the leaders of various parties holding consultations on setting up of a new political order.
BJP President Amit Shah will meet leaders of National Democratic Alliance tomorrow ahead of the declaration of poll results on Thursday.
The meeting will take place in New Delhi where top NDA leaders will chalk out a strategy on the possible outcome of the elections.
