The candidature of Sadhvi Pragya assumes significance as it comes at a time when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his election rallies had also accused the opposition parties of coining the term ‘Hindu Terror’ when the UPA was in power.
As BJP announced Sadhvi Pragya Thakur as its candidate from Bhopal, controversy triggered as she is currently out on bail and has been accused of Malegaon blast in 2008. Suddenly the question of propriety has been thrown into the fray by the people in socialdiscourse full of bigoted righteousness, asking if her candidature is justifiable. Soon, Sadhvi Pragya announced that she is here for a “Dharma-Yuddh” narrating herordeal accusing Congress of linking Hindus with terrorism.

In his interviewwith Times Now also, he emphasized that her candidature is a ‘symbol of redemption.’
The term ‘Hindu terror’ first came into existence when the Maharashtra ATS and NIAimplicated Sadhvi Pragya, Colonel Purohit and others in the blasts in Malegaon, AjmerMosque and the Samjhauta Express, claiming these were executed as an attempt to take‘revenge.’
The Dubious Investigation
In the Malegaon Blast on 29th September 2008, the police had first arrested a Muslim manwith clinching pieces of evidence directing towards Islamist radicals in connection to thebombings. Later the investigation was carried out by Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare,who was later assassinated in the 2008 Mumbai Attacks.
Surprisingly, there was a twist in the investigation, and after Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was arrested, the Saffron Terror angle was brought in. The narrative heated up with thearrest of serving Col Shrikant Purohit, an army officer with an impeccable and distinguished service record.
In a stunning turn around in the Case, the NIA on 13.05.2016 in its scathing charge sheet accused the Maharashtra ATS of a flawed investigation, fabrication of evidence and taking statements of witnesses under duress. It dropped MCOCA from all accused including Col. Purohit and giving almost a clean chit to Sadhvi Pragya and five others saying evidence against them were not sufficient to justify prosecution. However, the case on her under UAPA is still there on similar charges.
However, the matter is least of technicality and more about course correcting the narrative.
Despite keeping them in custody for decades, the Congress government failed to prove the charges. The ATS had lost all moral authority, how she was physically and psychologicallytortured and abused in obscene languages by her interrogators.
With no intention to incriminate an officer, I would reiterate that just because Hemant Karkare was assassinated in the 26/11 terror attack and honored with Ashok Chakra bythe UPA Govt, does not absolve him of his foul play to falsely implicate Col Purohit, Sadhvi Pragya, Aseemanad and others in Congress’s conspiracy to invent Hindu Terror.
Karkare may be an Ashok Chakra awardee to many, but to Sadhvi Pragya he is the man who tortured and abused her for no fault of her. Those who expect her to view him in the same way they do are devoid of both brain and heart. Scores are written about it and is evident that how NIA had investigated these cases were intriguing, unprecedented, unusual, and explicitly points to insidious and hidden motives inthe probe.
In addition to that the political propensities of Congress party’s top functionaries about the notion of Hindu Terror, make it a clear case of fixing.
Politics
Despite being a politically sensitive, the saffron terror cases are fit for a case study on thecomplete miscarriage of justice both ways – not only by torturing the innocent but also by letting free the real offenders.
Next, the culpability of the state in keeping people under indefinite detention, and describing them as ‘accused’; should mean someone should pay the price. And the author ofthis conspiracy, Digvijay Singh is the most fitting candidate to face it.
Remember when Digvijay Singh, a bitter critic of the RSS, had sparked a political storm byclaiming that the Batla encounter was fake in which Inspector M C Sharma was martyred? His statements were pure politics without justifiable motives. Despite the Delhi courtconvicted the Indian Mujahideen terrorist Shahzad in this case, Digvijay Singh still stood byhis statement and refused to apologize for it.
The same Digvijay Singh linked the heinous 2008 Mumbai terror attack carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists to RSS, the bêté noire of Congress, by launching a book called “26/11- RSS Ki Saazish”. Another book “Who Killed Karkare” was also aimed at denigrating the IntelligenceBureau (IB) and Police, to demoralize them.
It is intriguing that Azmal Kasab, who was not meant to be captured alive, was ordered byhis handlers to wear the Kalava, the sacred Hindu thread. Alas! The plan of proclaiming theMumbai Terror Attack as a Hindu conspiracy was ruined. India will forever remainindebted to Tukaram Ombale for catching Ajmal Kassab alive, or, we would not have beenable to prove that India was a victim and Hindus were not the perpetrators.
The heinous political game started by Congress and the notion of ‘Saffron Terror’ was apolitical conspiracy against the RSS and the Hindus for their crooked vote bank politics.
This decision by Narendra Modi led BJP has made the past opinion makers very nervous, and is the reason they are indulging in all sorts of bigoted righteousness. Beyond the fog of lopsided narratives presented by our pseudo-intellectuals, I strongly sense that the nation is finally finding its national identity and this shift is here to stay, and rightfully so. Significance of Sadhvi Pragya’s Candidature
At the root of this problem is the game of appeasement. When diehard opponents of the RSS heard of Narendra Modi’s victory in 2014, the reactions we heard from the past opinion makers was that the ‘secularism’ is dead in our country and will soon be extinct. Soon, convicted Lalu Yadav and blatant minority appeaser Mamata Banerjee won the elections in Bihar and Bengal, we were told that it is a triumph of ‘secularism’ all over again.
Then the Saffron-clad Yogi Adityanath’s announcement as the chief minister of UP was once again the death knell on ‘secularism’. For the pseudo-intellectuals, ‘secularism’ in our country is linked to how some people feel about someone coming to power. It suits their narrative of fear mongering amongminorities.
The misfortune that India has undergone after its independence lies in its flawed definition of ‘secularism’ and national ideal. The Congress, aided by a crooked media sinceindependence has created a version of ‘secularism’ that is based on bashing the majority.
From time immemorial, India has championed the model ideal of the oneness of theuniverse. ‘Secularism’ is deeply rooted in the Hindu ethos that goes inside their psyche. But the detractors have tried to create great confusion in the minds of people, especially the minorities about the concept of Hindutva.
Today the psyche of many Indians is going through a transition. India is in the process ofdefining a new ‘center’ for itself, in political, societal and cultural discourses. Being such avast country, it has taken several decades post-independence for this shift to happen.
Sadhvi Pragya’s candidature is yet another sign of realization that the persecuted and thewronged must reclaim its honor instead of living with traumatic memories. This woman has her life, her sanity, her health, her dignity, everything destroyed. What’s the restitutionfor being put in jail for no reason?
Her candidature is an act of retribution that will give her a new identity. Its goal is not about proving someone guilty, but to teach a lesson to future generations. When she willnarrate her traumatic, painful stories during the campaign, it will present her anopportunity to arouse the conscience of the persecuted, leaving a legacy for the future, as atestimony that no matter how much the evil and destructive ideologies do to mankind, theconscience of the Hindus can’t be shocked.
