Shri Mohan Bhagwat addressing the Basti Sangamam in Chennai
Chennai: A Basti Sangamam of Chennai Mahanagar was held on January 5, 2019 at Ramachandra Convention Hall. Out of 880 Bastis in the Mahanagar, a total of 2,913 swayamsevaks from 825 Basits attended the Sangamam. Pujya Swami Mitrananda of Chinmaya Mission, Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri R Vanniarajan, Uttar Tamil Nadu Prant Sanghachalak Shri K Kumarasamy, Chennai Mahanagar Sanghachalak Shri Chandrasekar and Mahanagar Sah Sanghachalak Shri Subbiah also shared the dais.
Addressing the gathering, RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the importance of Shakha work, which is the antidote for the ills plaguing the Hindu society. He said in order to make the Hindu society invincible, the Sangh was started and Shakha is a simple technique for consolidating the society. He said during Doctor Hedgewar’s time the emphasis was on how to take the Sangh work to all provinces. But now the need of the hour is how to take the Sangh work to all the Bastis.
He elaborated on how Hanuman is a source of inspiration for the swayamsevaks. “Like Hanuman who offered all his qualities and talent for the cause of Shri Ram, the swayamsevaks should offer their qualities and talent for all-round development of the nation. How Hanuman ji conquered Surasa, Simhika and Lankini while proceeding to Lanka, we have to deal with the evil forces today,” he said adding that no force on the earth can stop Bharat becoming a Vishwa Guru.
