Tribute to Radhagobindo Poddar

Veteran Sangh Pracharak Radhagobindo Poddar was remembered by various organisations and senior RSS karyakartas at Madhav Bhawan, the RSS Uttarbang headquarters

Siliguri: Veteran Sangh Pracharak Radhagobindo Poddar was remembered by various organisations and senior RSS karyakartas at Madhav Bhawan, the RSS Uttarbang headquarters. The family members of Radhagobindo (three nephews) were also present. Leaders of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Janata Party, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Purva Sainik Seva Parishad, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Vidya Bharati paid floral tribute. He had passed away on June 6 at Madhav Bhawan.
 
Radhagobindo Poddar became a RSS swayamsevak at Beleghata, East Kolkata during his student life. He became a Pracharak in 1964 after completing M.Com. He became Hooghly Zila Pracharak, afterwards Malda Vibhag Pracharak, (Malda and two Dinajpur districts), Prant Seva Pramukh of West Bengal and Dharam Jagaran Samanvay Vibhag Pramukh of Uttarbang Prant.
 
His memories and devotion as a true swayamsevak and Pracharak in every sense were remembered by the Uttar Bang Prant Pracharak Shri Jaladhar Mahato, Purba Kshetra RSS Executive Member Shri Satyanarayan Mazumdar, Khetra Pracharak Pramukh Shri Ramapada Pal and his nephew Shri Debasis Poddar. The two hour long programme concluded with Sangh Prarthana. In the beginning, five visually challenged students were given cheques of Rs five thousand each in the memory of Radhagobindo Poddar. — Basudeb Pal
