It looks like, after a brief ‘calm before the storm’ CPM has restarted their killing spree. This time it is a local youth Congress leader Shuhaib (30). Shuhaib and his friends were bombed at the roadside in Mattannur by a four member team killer team on February 12. Shuhaib sustained serious injuries when the killers hacked him and his friends; he succumbed to the injuries while he was on the way to the Kozhikode medical college. His friends are in hospital. Obviously, CPM cadres had raised the slogan warning Shuhaib would be killed soon when the party conducted a political march and a public meeting in Mattannur recently. Congress leaders have blamed CPM for the brutal killing.
Ironically, senior Congress leaders have been holding the RSS and CPM as equally responsible for political clashes and killings in Kerala, especially in Kannur district. The latest incident justifies the Sangh parivar allegations that political violence in Kerala is always CPM Vs. others.
BJP president Kummanam Rajasekhran said that CPM kills the political enemies after drafting the list and conducting training. When BJP conducted Janaraksha Yatra against Red Terror, the Congress leaders criticised it blaming that it belittles the state before the country and the whole world.
