RSS worker Sarath Madivala is the latest victim of hate politics in Karnataka

When the so-called pseduo secularists were trying to defend the Mamata Banerjee Government over the recent communal riots, they forgot to stand next to the Hindu kin killed in the country. These psuedo-secularists also failed to notice as to how Karnataka was on boil when Hindu activists were being stabbed to death in the Karnataka’s coastal areas.
This year, there have been a spate of Hindu killings in Bantwal taluk near Mangaluru. First, it was the murder of Gram Panchayat Vice-President Jaleel Karopady who was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants on April 20
following which the police arrested 11 suspects. This was followed by the brutal assault on Sarath Madivala (28), an RSS worker and owner at ‘Udaya’ laundry service at BC Road on midnight of July 4. He was attacked by a group when he was about to leave his workplace for home. He was declared dead on July 7, 2017 and on July 8, Bantwal almost came to a standstill with heavy police deployment as a procession was carried out from the Private Hospital in Mangaluru to his residence in Bantwal. In between these murders, there were several cases of stone pelting incidents. On several occasions, bandh like situation prevailed in the region. However, amidst this, radical
outfits took to social media to abuse. A Muslim-based outfit made a derogatory statement calling the RSS leaders as terrorists.
BJP district Gen Secretary Capt Brijesh Chowta criticising the Congress said that the party is known to run with the support of the sand and the cattle mafias in the district. He said that the Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai was desperate to maintain his vote bank and hence he was pressurising the police department and interfering with their work. The Hindu Hitarakshana Samithi organised a major protest in BC Road on July 7 opposing assault of Sarath as well as an increase in the attacks on Hindus in Dakshina Kannada district. Several Hindu outfit leaders and
organisations gathered at BC Road. Several prominent leaders of the party including Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, and Udupi Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje participated and demanded for the quick arrest of the accused. Thousands of people attended the funeral
procession and to condemn the violence by Muslims.
Even before the people could come out of it, another Hindu—Chiranjeevi (24) was assaulted by a group of three unknown miscreants. The victim is being treated in a private hospital and is learnt to be a resident of Kotraguttu in Amblamogaru. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had sustained head injuries and three accused had come by a Pulsar bike.
Meanwhile, Taniyappa Madiwala father of Sarath has demanded for the arrest of the real accused in the murder. Meanwhile, the Hindu organisations have decided to join hands and contribute about Rs 10 lakhs to the family.
CM fails to mention Muslims
As it was a severe setback for the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who failed to maintain law and order. He held a press conference where he advised that Hindus should maintain peace but he had no word to speak against Muslims. Siddaramaiah, who is busy preparing for the next year’s
elections, seems to be already on a Muslim appeasement drive and has targeted only Hindus and is completely avoiding uttering anything against the Muslim miscreants.
High-handedness of Congress
According to Union Minister DV Sadananada Gowda, the recent attacks on Hindus in coastal Karnataka have sent a wrong message to the State as well as the country. He alleged that this was due to the high-handedness of those in power for which Dakshina Kannada district is falling prey. He said that a complete report would be collected from the district administration and submitted to the
Union Government.
Gowda wondered why the Congress Government was stooping to a new low in
appeasing Muslims. He said that instead of taking action against those involved in such untoward incidents, the police are filing cases against those who took part in the funeral
procession of RSS worker Sharath. “Any officer who works fairly is transferred. Unrest began after the SP was called and was ordered to act as per their wish. Appeasement politics that is being practiced,” he said. Gowda assured to draw the
attention of the Centre about people from the neighbouring Kerala coming to the district to create tension. Law and order is the State responsibility and we will not interfere, but we are observing all the developments, closely,” he said.
Gowda said that during the Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held in Delhi, where ministers have an opportunity to inform the Prime Minister about the developments in the State, the PM would be informed about the prevailing
situation in the district. People climbed the police jeep and created ruckus when the funeral procession of SDPI leader Ashraf Kalraai was being carried out, but no cases have been registered. Instead cases are booked against those who
participated in the funeral ceremony of Sarath Madivala.
NIA in Mangaluru
Meanwhile, BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje has written to Union Home Minister for setting up a National Investigative Agency (NIA) in Mangaluru as the number of home-grown
terrorists is growing. In the letter she said, “The situation in and around Mangaluru continues to remain tense, volatile and precarious. An eerie silence prevails. There is fear and anxiety among the people. This atmosphere needs to be
rectified immediately by taking some dynamic and pro-active measures that would infuse a sense of confidence and trust among people. This is possible by taking two steps. Firstly, the perpetrators of these heinous crimes need to be arrested and punished according to law. Secondly, there is an urgent need to identify the potential culprits, apprehend them before they indulge in wanton killings. If these two vital steps have to become a reality, then I am of the view that an office of NIA needs to be opened in Mangaluru to monitor the
movement of the suspected jehadi elements not only in Mangaluru but across coastal region too.”
Yeddyurappa condemns Kempaiah appointment
Meanwhile, BJP State unit president BS Yeddyurappa said that it was not right on the part of the Karnataka Government to ask former IPS officer to oversee the security scenario in the violence hit coastal areas. It may be recalled that Kempaiah, who is a close confidante of CM has been named as the Home Minister’s advisor despite opposition from his own party men as well as police officers. There have been a number of allegations against Kempaiah. n
