Report/Kerala : Stalwarts call for Hindu Unity
The public meeting organised under the joint auspices of intellectual and media cells of Kerala unit of BJP bore a poetic, but politically significant caption – “They come, history changes.” Being a rare combination of two national stalwarts of BJP coupled with state president Kummanam Rajasekharan gifted a thought-provoking evening to the elite Kochiites. The programme took place on May 27, in Kaloor, Kochi.
Addressing a thickly packed gathering Dr Subramanian Swamy said that the union government can wield special powers to put an end to the CPM violence in Kannur district. The government can impose Article 247 of the Constitution which gives state magistrate’s power to the district magistrate. It empowers him to register cases and report directly to the Centre. The Union Government can even deploy special armed forces at the riot-hit places.
Swamy added that the Congress party had been confined to a family. International Communism has turned a thing of past even in Russia. In China, they changed the ideology from top to bottom. The voting percent of the Communist party which was 22 per cent in 1952 has come down to 4 per cent. That also is on the way to nothing. Now CPM thinks of drafting Indian Muslim League (IUML) to its LDF. In this respect, they plan to please IUML by forming a new district including some Muslim-majority places. CPM wants to eliminate the growth of RSS, hence the murder politics they unleash. They do have the past of supporting even the Khalistan movement. Once the Hindus become a minority, that is the end of democracy.
Swami urged the Hindus in Kerala to stand united. In 2014, 25 per cent Hindu vote consolidation brought BJP to power. If 30 per cent Hindu consolidation materialises, BJP will come into power in Kerala.
Swami Sakshi Maharaj MP said that the Union Government’s endeavour to control the livestock trafficking is not RSS agenda, but a Gandhian one. The preaching of non-violence is taboo in Gandhiji’s country! People have to resort to agitation for the installation of a statue of Adi Sankara even at his birth place! But, those who go for encroaching the land by installing a cross get government support and even protection! If 30 per cent Hindus unite, no one can hurt or ignore them. Despite the court ruling against forceful conversion, Kerala is the only state where the law is not enacted in this regard. Birth control is an issue which should be made applicable to all. The parents should be duty-bound to spare their children for joining armed forces, ‘sanyas’ and social activities.
Speaking on the occasion BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said, the party would file cases in all courts of the state against CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan for defaming country’s Armed forces.
Former BJP organising secretary P P Mukundan said that RSS workers influence not only the families of its swayamsevaks but also the whole family through their dedicated activities. BJP Ernakulam district president N K Mohandas, Intellectual Cell Convener T G Mohandas and Media Cell district convener B Prakashbabu also spoke.
The programme underlined the need for Hindu unity in the state in the wake of threats from Islamic terrorism, CPM violence and the compromise politics of both Congress-led UDF and CPM-led LDF neglecting the interests of the state and the people in general, and the Hindus, in particular.
