Rich tributes were paid to veteran Sangh Pracharaks the late Haldekarji and Jaidevji at Patel Hall of Keshav Memorial High School in Hyderabad on March 9
“Haldekarji and Jaidevji are guiding lamps, who will always light up our path. They are immortal. Their life was
synonymous with devotion, dedication and loyalty,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri V Bhagaiah, while speaking at a joint condolence meeting organised at Patel Hall of Keshav Memorial High School, Hyderabad on March 9. The famous words of Haldekarji that “Death is rest during Duty” were also recalled.
Haldekarji, who dedicated his whole life to the Sangh work, had phenomenal stamina and endurance. His 58 minute Gana Samata during his Dwitiya Varsha Sangh Shiksha Varga, impossible for most of us, is legendary. His soul dwelt in the principles and values of Sangh. It was with the interest of Sangh in mind, that he developed life-long relationships with even strangers. His body, mind and soul were dedicated to serving the organisation. Both Haldekarji and Jaidevji had the virtue of lending a patient ear to any karyakarta. They constantly adapted to the changing times and they were always with the gennext, Shri Bhagaiah said. He further said the departure of Haldekarji has left a void in the twin states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. But we must remember his ideals and work for progress and betterment of the society.
Earlier, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sewa Pramukh Shri Ajit Prasad Mohapatra said Haldekarji may have left his mortal remains, but his soul is very much part of the Sangh. His selfless work in organising the Sangh activity during Odisha floods was memorable. During that work he advised everyone not to look for swayamsevaks amongst the deceased and treat every corpse as Bharatiya. He left his undying signature on the relief work. When he proposed that submerged lands of farmers should be made
cultivable at least for one crop, many donors came forward to become part of the relief works. Inspired by this, 3,000 acres were made ready for one crop. Apart from this, he was also fondly remembered for creating orphanage, home for the old people who were
separated from their children due to the floods and by establishing centres in every village to reunite the families.
Dakshin Madhya Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri Nagaraj said people who work with high social awareness always enthuse the society. Haldekarji and Jaidevji were veterans with such qualities. Jaidevji treated Sangh work as his own life’s work and mentored many karyakartas. Inspired by Yadavaraoji and Seshadriji, Jaidevji started Rashtrothhana Parishad by sacrificing his high paying job for a low paying but noble service and resurrected the organisation. With immense patience, he would carefully Listen to every word of every karyakarta. He was instrumental in pouring life into dying organisations like the Mythic Society and reviving them to
international standards. He realised the growing influence of the saints in the society and suggested that upcoming saints should be made aware of the burning issues of national importance. Heads of various Mathas liked the idea and gave the responsibility to create suitable programme to Shri Jaidevji himself. This is how the Bharatiya Sanskriti Parishad was born.
Rashtra Sevika Samiti Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh Sunita Haldekar, who is niece of the late Haldekarji, said Haldekarji till his last breath remembered his mother’s village. Every year he visited Haldigaon, which happens to be his birthplace. Villagers treated his arrival as a festival. Telangana Prant Sanghachalak Shri P Venkateshwar rao, Andhra Pradesh Prant Sangha chalak Shri Sundaramurty, Shri Hari Hara Sharma, Shri Parvata Rao, Shri Rajavardhan and Shri Laxman also paid tribute to Shri Haldekarji and Shri Jaidev.
Samarasta Sahbhoj with Construction Workers
Meerut: A building for western UP Sangh Karyalaya is under construction. About 45 labourers are working there since months. Most of them belong to the SC communities. As the festival of Holi approached this year, the Karyalaya Pramukh Shri Badaam Singh thought of a Samarasta Sahbhoj in which the RSS swayamsevaks will cook and dine together with the labourers. Kshetra Pracharak Shri Alok Kumar also consented to be present. So, on the Holi day, the local RSS workers cooked poori, sabzi, rice and sweets along with the labourers and then dined together sitting on the ground floor of the building under construction, in the company of Alokji. The whole event lasted a couple of hours in a most congenial atmosphere making it memorable for all. The construction workers said they would never forget it. One of them remarked it was unthinkable for him and his companions to cook and eat together along with the owners of the building they were making. Shri Badaam Singh said he remembered an incident in the life of Swami Vivekananda when he got delicious food cooked for the Santhelese labourers working at the Belur Math and then himself served it to them saying— mere narayan ka bhog hua. He said the RSS infuses the same samskar in swayamsevaks. —Ajay Mittal
