While the newsrooms are dissecting the words of Dr Kundan, who declared Rs 1 Cr bounty on the Kerala CM’s head, even after removing him from all responsibilities of RSS, it becomes pertinent to look into the past of CPM and its series of ‘flamboyant’ hate speeches
“Kundan , who made a controversial statement in Ujjain protest meeting has been relieved of his responsibility in RSS,” Dr Manmohan Vaidya, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh said in an official statement condemning the controversial speech delivered by Dr Kundan Chandravat, former Ujjain Mahanagar sah-prachar pramukh, against the Kerala Chief Minister.
By taking due action against him, RSS has reiterated its 90 years long legacy of keeping peace and harmony in the society. While RSS
gracefully maintained its accountability by issuing the
statement in no time, it becomes pertinent to look into the history of CPM, the party of wolves in the guise of sheep in Delhi, that raised a big hue and cry over
Dr Kundan’s rant.
Fascist in principle and practice, the decisions and
policies of the CPM have been shaped by Leninist party norms, not by public opinion and Democratic or Constitutional values. Analysing the past and precedence of the CPM, this antipathy towards democratic values and propriety is quite evident in its policies and decisions pertaining to both the party affairs and politics. When Dr Kundan’s controversial statement rocked the newsrooms elsewhere, he turned out to be a laughing stock for Malayalis who know the past and present of both the CPM and its Chief Minister Vijayan. Umpteen of trolls have been churned out by ‘Trollers’ of Social Media making fun of blood thirsty commies who maneuver to win the bounty!. Because, for CPM, their past is their enemy. The CPM, as a political power, thrived in the rural Kerala by hatemongering and waging bloody war against their political opponents. Despite taking much time, as a result of series of nationwide protests and the interventions of various Human Rights activists, now the harrowing glimpses of the Communist atrocities have broken through the boundaries of Kerala, thanks to social media where stooges of CPM have no role as the editors and reporters. Again, their history bears testimony to what the party stands for and upon which principles the very foundation of the party is laid. Time and again, the CPM has
supported and entertained hatemongers and sellers of death among themselves. While Dr Kundan has been immediately relieved of all the responsibilities, the deathmongers among CPM leaders continue to enjoy the benefit of political power and seek higher positions in the party hierarchy. Looking back to the history of CPM, myriad examples of making a mockery of democracy and the rule of law unveil before us .
One…Two…Three… Four
In a speech delivered in 2012 that later stirred hornets’ nest even beyond the borders, MM Mani, the then CPM Idukki District secretary publically boasted that his party had killed many political rivals in Idukki district alone. At a party meeting at Manakkad village, Mani had said, “When Vayalar Ravi was Home Minister (in 1982), hundreds of cases were registered against us. What had we done…? We had prepared a list: one… two… three… four. You do not understand? The first one was shot dead… the second one was beaten to death… the third one was stabbed to death… After that incident, Congress people were scared to wear their Khadi, they used to ask us shall we wear it, because they were scared of us!” The blatant confession of Mani sent a shudder down many spines. The Police had registered murder charges against him and his fellow comrades. As the issue flared up even in international media like BBC, succumbing to the mounting public ire, CPM had removed him from the post of the District Secretary.
But later, what happened? Once the dust settled, the party extended full support to Mani. He has been
promoted as a CPM state secretariat member and finally a Minister in the state cabinet! With Additional Sessions Court in Thodupuzha of Idukki dismissing the discharge petition, he is facing trial in the Anjeri Baby murder case. Baby was a local Congress worker who was killed on November 13, 1982 by CPM workers. Notably, in the aforesaid serial killings by CPM as confessed by Mani, almost all the victims were Congress men.
Bomb Maker becomes ‘Home’ Maker
While addressing a march into a police station a decade ago, The CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, the then Deputy Leader of Opposition had openly challenged the Police and law of the land and threatened that CPM cadres would make bombs on the premises of Police Stations! Ironically, the same man who had urged the party cadres to make bombs at police stations later became the Home Minister of Kerala.
Again in July 2016, soon after the new CPM-led LDF Government took over the power, in a hate speech delivered at Payyannur, a party Village (one of the many villages controlled by CPM where no other political parties are allowed to work!) in Kannur, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, now promoted as the state secretary, a notch above the Chief Ministerial post when CPM is in power, urged the party cadres to physically attack the political opponents. Giving a clear diktat to his party cadres, he said that the party activists must make sure that those who come to attack must not return! Predictably, the LDF Government did not bother to take any action against their de facto leader. But the spate of murders of RSS/BJP workers in Kannur after the virulent speech of Kodiyeri unequivocally suggests that the CPM comrades have bravely been
executing the edict of their state secretary.
Man-Eaters of Kannur
Even though he is just one of the many district secretaries of CPM, P Jayarajan is a big name in Kerala politics, thanks to his reputation as the mastermind of political murders in Kannur. An accused in many murder cases including the murder of Manoj, RSS Zilla Sharirik Pramukh, and Ariyil Shukkur, a Muslim League worker, P Jayarajan was not allowed to enter Kannur followed by a court order. According to Manoj’s sister, many a times, P Jayarajan threatened Manoj in public speeches and even in personal meetings. Jayarajan has been charged under section 15 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and his anticipatory bail was rejected twice by the Kerala High Court.
Jayarajan was also allegedly involved in the murder of TP Chandrasekharan, a reputed Communist rebel and leader of Revolutionary Marxist Party. The accusations were levelled by the immediate relatives and friends of the victims. As a disgrace to the sanctity of our legal system, P Jayarajan is now heading the Prison Advisory Committee, Kannur Central Prison where the majority of CPM goons and criminals are inhabited!
Reporting the brutal murder of Ariyil Shukkur, Indian Express, dated August 02, 2012, quoted Kerala Police that CPM activists rounded up five men, clicked their images and circulated these among their comrades. And Shukkur was hacked to death because someone had identified him as the real target. It is in connection with this murder that P Jayarajan was arrested.
Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrashekharan are CPM leaders from Kannur and seventh and eighth accused in the Thalassery Fazal murder case. NDF activist Muhammed Fasal was murdered at Thalassery on October 22, 2006. The way CPM “punished” both the murder accused may be hard to digest for many of us. Both of them were given seats in the 2016 local body elections! While CPM anointed Rajan as the Kannur District Panchayat President, his brother Karayi Chandrasekharan became the Thalassery Municipal chairman! Later both had to resign after the Kerala High Court rejected their dismissal pleas. Karayi Rajan was an accused in TP Chandrasekharan murder case.
As is the king so are the subjects
Without having minimum a criminal charge to his credit, one can hardly become even a district leader of CPM. As it has become a criterion for holding high posts in CPM, they could not afford to choose a Chief Minister with spotless past. Pinarayi Vijayan, whom Dr Kundan targeted, himself was an accused in the murder of a Swayamsevak Vadikkal Ramakrishnan, the first balidani of RSS, in 1969. Apart from that, in a startling revelation, AP Abdullakutty, two-time CPM MP, wrote in his biography that Pinarayi Vijayan, in a party meeting held at Azhikodan in Kannur on March 5, 2008, suggested that Kerala CPM should adopt Bengal model of burying people alive without shedding even a drop of blood! Quoting Pinarayi Vijayan, a newly-arrived guardian angel of peace and secularism, Abdullakutty wrote: “In this matter, we should learn from Bengalis. They do it without shedding even a drop of blood. They kidnap people, bury their bodies in a deep pit along with a sack of salt. The world never comes to know about the blood, photographs or the news about such killings!’’
Alas! No legal action was taken over this shocking
revelation. As a result the accused has now become the Chief Minister of Kerala. Allegedly Pinarayi Vijayan has been involved in the murder of TP Chandrasekharan. Several such accusations were openly hurled at Vijayan by Chandrasekharan’s wife and son. However, Police didn”t probe his alleged role.
The list is endless as almost all CPM leaders have at least a dozen of speeches to claim that instigated violence across the state. CPM leader and former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, a few years ago, threatened in a meeting at Kozhikode that the prevailing peace in Kannur (then) doesn’t mean that CPM has withdrawn. The CPM is
waiting for an opportunity to pay off the debt with interest! If Sitaram Yechury’s CPM is a wolf in sheep clothing in Delhi, it is a wolf in wolf clothing in Kerala. n
