Hyderabad: “To spread and strengthen the Sangh, we need to reach out to the village or basti we live in as a
representative replica of Bharat and we must realise that in the prosperity of our village /basti lies the prosperity of our country. For this to happen, each individual should take out some time and start working towards the nation’s cause,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a gathering at the Udyogi Sammelan at the Keshav Memorial School on January 8.
The Udyogi Sammelan, was meant for the employee swayamsevaks. A total of 3,217 swayamsevaks, belonging to different occupations and self-employed participated in the programme in full RSS uniform from 186 employee Shakhas and 96 Sapthahik Milans. Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr V Nagaraju and Prant Sanghachalak Shri P Venkateshwar Rao also shared the dais.
The Sarsanghachalak further said there is a considerable increase in the number of Shakhas across the country during the previous year and they are still increasing. There are more than 65 per cent Yuva Shakhas amongst all. “Family as a unit remained the foundation for our culture. It is in the family through parents that we all learnt morals and values. Today, we once again need to emphasise these ideals and inculcate such values among children in our families and ‘Kutumb Prabhodhan’ is one such channel for the swayamsevaks to act upon. We need to bridge the gaps among the people through social harmony to build a resurgent and strong Bharat we dream of. Therefore, it becomes our bounden duty to work towards a harmonious society,” he said.
Som Yajna in Rameshwaram from Feb 4
Chennai: Gau Gram Seva Samiti Trust is conducting ‘Som Yajna with 108 Yajna Kunds and Cow Puja with 108 desi cows’ on February 4 and 5 at Swami Narayan Samsthan premises in Rameshwaram. The event is being held under the guidance of many eminent sanyasis, sadhus and spiritual leaders at the Jyothirlingam of South. Later, it will be conducted at all Jyothirlingas for welfare of the country.
Apart from the Som Yajna and Cow Puja, there will be free medical camp for the people of the surrounding areas and also an exhibition showcasing the significance of desi cows, their contribution to the humanity, and difference between the desi and cross breed cows. Many panchagavya products will also be displayed for sale. Audio, visual shows on relevant topics related to desi cow, cow protection, will also be there.
A reception committee involving Justice (retd) ShriV Kanakaraj as president has been formed for the said purpose. There are many other eminent persons from all over the state, in the committee. Pujya Omkarananda, Pujya Maruthachala Adigalar, Pujya Kumarakurupara Swamigal, Swami Chitanyananda of Vellimalai and many other saints are expected to participate in the programme.
Briefing the mediapersons about the event on January 5, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Gau Sewa Pramukh Shri Shankarlal said in the cow puja, there would be 23 types of cows. Ghee for the yajna has been obtained from the milk of desi cows only from different parts of the Tamil Nadu. Around 10,000 people from throughtout the State are expected to participate
Collector’s Editions of Organiser and Panchjanya presented to Sri Sri Ravishankar
Bengaluru: The Collector’s Editions of Organiser and Panchjanya, published on the occassion of completion of 90 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), were presented to Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar in Bengaluru on January 6. RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhayyaji Joshi, Organiser editor Shri Prafulla Ketkar and Panchjanya editor Shri Hitesh Shankar jointly presented the copies. Prof Pawan Kumar Sharma, senior professor of Management from Vardhman Mahavir Open University, Kota, Rajasthan, was also present on the occasion.
Bharat Parikrama Yatra in Puducherry
Puducherry: Bharat Parikrama Yatra by senior Sangh Pracharak Shri Sitaram Kedilaya is now in Puducherry. During the Yatra in the UT Shri Kedilaya is meeting various families in villages, addressing the gatherings of families, youth and also interacting with the elders and eminent personalities. In Bagour, Congress leader Shri Gopu and in Kallakurichi ADMK MLA Shri Prabhu met with Shri Kedilaya. He also interacted with various community leaders at Devipattinam Panchayat and visited Ramana Ashram in Tiruvannamalai.
Dr Nityanand remembered
Dehradun: Veteran Sangh Pracharak Dr Nityanand, who was instrumental in expanding and strengthening the Sangh work in Uttarakhand, was remembered on his first death anniversary on January 8. Senior Sangh Pracharak Shri Ashok Beri recalled the reconstruction work done under the guidance of Dr Nityanand during Uttarkashi earthquake. Apart from reconstructing the damaged houses, various activities for education, health and
village development were also started there. VHP general secretary organisation Shri Dinesh Chandra remembered the last speech delivered at Bareilly by Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya who introduced Dr Nityanand in the Sangh. Presiding over the function Dr Vijay Dhasmana, Vice Chancellor of Swami Ram Himalayan University, described Dr Nityanand as ‘Sadhak of the Himalayas’. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Rajrajeshwaranandji also spoke.
Shri Ravidev Anand welcomed the gathering and Shri Prabhakar Uniyal introduced the souvenir published on the occasion. Mehsana: RSS Mehsana Vibhag in Gujarat organised a
symposium for the intellectuals on the topic of ‘India in the present global scenario’. Speaking at the concluding ceremony RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh Dr Aniruddha Deshpande said the Sangh founder Dr Hedgewar used to say that there was no need to celebrate the silver jubilee of the RSS because the Sangh is neither a sect, institute or an organisation. Dr Hedgewar also said: “The Sangh is society and society is the Sangh. The Sangh is dedicated to awaken and uplift the society. The Sangh endeavours that the society should remain discrimination-free after the Independence. The Sangh is made of the people who think for the nation. The Sangh is
constantly working to build a harmonious society.”
Dr Deshpande further said materialism is not fit for social unity as it generates inequality. He said we are a cultural nation and despite so much diversity it is a nation. Once, somebody asked Dr Hedgewar to explain who is a Hindu. Dr Saheb said anyone who accepts this land as one’s motherland is a Hindu. Therefore, our thinking is emotional and not the academic. Referring to various problems the society faces today he said the solution to all the problems lies in the Hindu view of life, which is based on the spirituality. He stressed the need to instill the Hindu values to every person of the society so that everyone has the feeling of pride to his/her history and places of reverence.
Teach Students the Glorious History of Bharat
Katni: RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri J Nandakumar stressed on organising different events to generate the reading habits among the students. Books are good medium to keep the society united by propagating the nationalist views. He was speaking at the 7th Book Fair and Swadeshi Meal organised at Sadhuram School on January 4. Shri Nandakumar further said the ancient history is missing from the textbooks. That is why the students are not aware of the country’s real history. Therefore, there should be amendment in the curriculum incorporating the glorious history for the students. Commenting on the recent anti-national activities reported from some educational
institution last year he said it is impossible to break this nation.
Presiding over the function Dr Naresh Chandra Gautam, Vice Chancellor of the Chitrakoot Mahatma Gandhi Rural University, stressed on regular organisation of such events as they impart good samskars to the people. Shri DV Rao, general manager of ordinance factory, said the pen has been powerful than the sword. There are innumerable instances in the history when many thinkers and writers transformed the society through their writings. Senior Pracharak Dhanprakashji turns 100
Jaipur: Senior RSS Pracharak Shri Dhanprakash turned 100 on January 10. In order to extend him best wishes and also to pray for his long life, a yajna and Rudrabhishek was performed at Bharati Bhavan, the RSS Jaipur Prant Karyalaya on January 8.
Born on January 10, 1918 in Muzaffarnagar District of Uttar Pradesh he joined the Central Government as a clerk. After some time, he left the job and became a Sangh Vistarak in 1943. He worked as Saharanpur and Aligarh as Nagar Pracharak and then as Zilla Pracharak in Ambala, Hissar, Gurugram, Shimla and Hoshiyarpur. He was also Vibhag Pracharak in Jammu from 1962 to 65. He was Jaipur Vibhag Pracharak from 1965 to 71. From 1971 to 1986 he was in BMS. From 2000 to 2005 he looked after the Sewa Bharati work. n
Shun the practices that devide the society
New Delhi: Suruchi Prakashan in association with the National Book Trust (NBT) organised a discussion on social harmony during the World Book Fair on January 8. Two books, Social Harmony and Hindutva and 7th and 8th volumes of Dattopant Thengadi Jeevan Darshan were also released on the occasion.
Participating in the discussion after releasing the books, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal highlighted the views of third RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Balasaheb Deoras on social harmony. He said India is the country of rishis who wrote the Vedas were from all the castes. Women rishis like Surya, Savitri, Ghosha, Ambala are well known. There was no bar of achieving the rishihood. But with the passages of time this system collapsed and the Hindu society was gripped by various evils after the
invasions during the medieval period. Those systems may be effective during those days, but now they are
insignificant, as they divide the society. Since it is not possible to change the caste, the differences can be overcome through social harmony. He also explained how BMS founder Shri Dattopant Thengadi united the workers at the time when the Left unions used to dominate. Panchjanya editor Shri Hitesh Shankar, secretary of Deendayal Research Institute (DRI) Shri Atul Jain, Shri Gautam from Suruchi Prakashan and Shri B Surendran from BMS were also present on the occasion.
Digitalisation of National Literature is need of the hour
New Delhi: Today it is the growing perception that reading habits of people has decreased in the digital age. But the fact is that the number of publishing houses is increasing and people buy books in large number. The high turnout of youth in the Book Fairs and buying books by them also show their interest in reading. However, since a good number of youth prefer digital books, the number of ebooks is inadequate. This should be strengthened,” said RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri J Nandakumar, while speaking at a seminar organised by Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra and National Book Trust (NBT) during the World Book Fair in New Delhi on January 12. A book, Kalpvriksha, published by Suruchi Prakashan was also released on the occasion.
He stressed the need to prepare sufficient number of ebooks on national literature, which promotes values. Since people now read through mobile phones, such books should be available in sufficient number. Apart from the topics of books, the purity of language should also be taken care of. He called upon the people to use social media platforms for dissemination of the nationalist voices on different issues.
Organiser editor Shri Prafulla Ketkar said digital media has emerged as an alternative source for dissemination of the views on different topics. There is effective counter view on many topics whether J&K, ban on cow slaughter, cultural legacy of Bharat, etc in the digital media and the mainstream media has to take note of it. He however drew attention to the misuse of digital media by some vested interest and stressed on legal curbs. Blogger Shri Nalin Chauhan said the print media now follow the digital media. He stressed the need to prepare some people who specifically work on improvement of language and grammar in the digital media.
