Congress leader P Chidambaram is known for his absurd remarks. He pleads for greater autonomy for Kashmir. As a matter of fact Kashmir is already been enjoying not only greater autonomy but it is the most privileged State of India. It is ungratefulness on part of the Kashmiris not to acknowledge what India has been doing for them during the last 70 years. The Central government has been supporting Kashmir all through this period. The separatists, however, in order to maintain their importance have been provoking the people to do all sort of mischief and create unrest. Chidambaram is pleading against the unity, security and integrity of the country. He does not stand for India but for the terrorists. There is hardly any difference between his attitude and that of the Pakistan. Instead of asking for greater autonomy for Kashmir which the State already has he should have demanded Pakistan to handover PoK to India which it has illegally occupied.

Congress: A Party of Destruction
(Nationalism Vs Nepotism, September 4); This refers to editorial of Organiser titled ‘Nationalism Vs Nepotism’. The Congress Party remained in power by just baselessly criticising the nationalist forces. It has specialised techniques to woo the voters i.e. either through sympathy or in the name of slogans such as Garibi Hatao. It is responsible for dividing Bharat into three namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh only to continue to rule in India. If the party claims legacy of Independence Struggle, then present leadership of the Congress Party should also take the responsibility for creation of PoK and present Islamic violence in Kashmir. Congress follows the British mantra of ‘Divide and Rule’. I totally disagree with the term’learning’ used for Rahul Gandhi. The word learning can be used only for a person who has got willingness to learn and not for those who only sleeps in the Parliament and always talk baselessly. The Congress is a party which will never like to accept criticism and opposition. Congress imported economic policies from abroad in the name of employment generation, without even thinking twice that whether they are applicable in India or not. One cannot expect Congress without Nehru-Gandhi dynasty and vested leaders of this party will never allow the Congress to become a party having a nationalist character. This is the right time for the Bharatiya Janata Party to take responsibility to discharge its duties as a ruling as well as Opposition Party in national interest irrespective of cast, creed and religion.

Need for Transparency in Selection of Judges
Nationalism can be imbibed in the minds of present and future generations through honest, transparent, committed and coordinated functioning of the four estates of Democracy.
Kudos to the bold and rational feelings expressed by Hon’ble Justice Shri J Chalameshwar Garu about lack of transparency in the “Collegium System” functioning in the past 20 years for the purpose of selecting judges to the Courts of Equity. It is time for the government and the judiciary to arrive at a transparent selection process for efficient Justice Delivery System and to arrest the divisive tendencies being advanced by certain sections of the society.

Cow Trafficking
This refers to the news item that Central Government has asked nine states of our country to take steps to check the cow trafficking and smuggling to countries such as Bangaladesh. Perhaps the same was demanded by few gousevaks in one of the “Gou-Sammelan” held in New Delhi few months back. It is a very good step which the Central government has taken. In addition to this step the government should also take steps to sustain such a huge population of cattle. If the government will not take any action the cattle will die in hunger instead of getting slaughtered in our neighbouring countries. In this connection making a “Cow-Ministry” at Central and State governments is the only solution I foresee.

| Need for Strict Laws on Rape (Neither Hope, Nor Answer, August 21); This refers to the article titled ‘Neither Hope, Nor Answer’ in Organiser by Nishant Kr Azad. In view of the increasing incidents of rape, it is absolutely necessary to review the rape law humanely and progressively as the existing law is not only partial but also outdated. Rape is not something that occurs by itself. It is part of the continuing and embedded violence in society that targets women on a daily basis. Hastily made laws will serve no purpose. The government should reconsider the ordinance, giving more importance to the panel recommendations. It is rightly point out that, “The law, if it is to be effective, must keep up with these changes, not try to force a regression to a time long past.” While Sections 375 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code are the major laws dealing with rape, they have failed to match the international standards of addressing the crime. Laws alone cannot put an end to evils that are endemic in the social structure; the government should take steps to take its own enactments seriously. Making tougher laws will only be as effective as its implementation. Any new law on rape should include the conduct of the defence lawyer and bar unethical questions against the rape victim. If an FIR is registered against a person in a rape case, he should be debarred from the society.The prosecution for rape and sexual harassment should have toughest lawyers pleading the case to have 100% conviction and not one in over 1,000 cases. Before the dignity of more women is sacrificed, we need to have a real change for the better democracy, greater freedom, full transparency, strict law enforcement, and mandatory punishment for heinous crimes against women. There are many rape cases which have become the headlines of the leading newspapers but the timely actions are not taken. Rapist should be given such a punishment that others should get scared before even committing such a crime. |
Demand ‘Constitutional Hindu Bharat’
(The Dangerous Scenario, August 18); This refers to article ‘The Dangerous Scenario’ in Organiser co- authored by Shanmukh, Aparna, Vikram, Arihant, Saswati Sarkar and Dikgaj, giving detailed analysis of rise in Muslim and Christian population in various parts of truncated Bharat. It may be added that in the first census held in 1881, Hindu, Muslim ratio in the undivided Bharat was 5:1, which became 3:1 in 1941 census. Thus in a period of only 60 years, Hindus were reduced from 5 to 3. It is worth mentioning, that there was no family planning in those days, nor there were large scale conversions during that period of British rule. Basic reason for that huge reduction in Hindu population was that Muslims produce more children. Then, what is the remedy? Hindus got a golden opportunity in 1947, offered by Jinnah and the Muslim League, for exchange of population along with creation of Pakistan as an exclusive homeland for the Muslims of India. Dr B R Ambedkar also advised that it was in the interest of the Hindus to accept that offer in his book Pakistan or the Partition of India. But Hindus who were misguided and befooled by Gandhi, Nehru and the Congress were emotionally exploited. We should not raise the slogan of Akhand Bharat but a Constitutional Hindu Bharat.

A Laughable Statement
The reported statement of the IRF chief Dr Zakir Naik that “Democracy will be in danger if a ban is imposed on him” is to say the least, is laughable. He should thank God that he is the citizen of the largest democracy in the world. And, I am sure, he is aware of the fact that none of the 60 odd Muslim countries in the world, without exception, where the affairs of the administration are run strictly according to the Sharia dictates, has ever been able to sustain a democratic system of governance. Right of free thought and expression are a taboo as all these countries are under the thumb rule of religious bigots.
