Nagpur: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the National Flag on Independence Day at RSS headquarters, Dr Hedgewar Bhavan. “The nation got Independence after a lot of struggle and sacrifices. It is the duty of every citizen to maintain the Independence, national unity and integrity,” he said while speaking on the occasion. RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale was also present on the occasion.
There are reports of celebrating Independence Day by Sangh swayamsevaks across the country. The Ghosh Swayamsevaks in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, displayed various tunes of Ghosh to remember the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters at the Martyrs Memorial in the city. Vibhag Sanghachalak Shri Mahendra Singh Maggo on this occasion said every citizen of the country is free to celebrate the Independence Day in his/her own manner. That is why the Swayamsevaks paid their tribute to the freedom fighters through the Ghosh. He said the freedom was achieved after a long struggle and innumerable sacrifices. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every citizen to maintain and preserve it at any cost. The function began after paying floral tribute to the martyrs.
‘Education should be useful for Social Welfare’
New Delhi: “The teacher should understand his responsibilities and be able to identify the potential of each student and help him/her overcome the drawbacks, while guiding to be successful in life,” said RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal while addressing a gathering of Vidya Bharati school teachers in Delhi on August 13. He said the teacher is not merely a person who teaches, but highly revered as a Guru and enjoys respect in the society. He said education is the only thing which will last for life and the same needs to be useful for the nation’s development.
Vidya Bharati general secretary Shri Lalit Bihari Goswami and national secretary Shri Shivkumar were also present on the occasion. Vidya Bharati north zone president Shri Ashokpal and Delhi president Shri Praveen Kant, general secretary Shri Rakesh Gupta and other dignitaries also attended the event. About 1,200 teachers from 28 educational institutions of Delhi attended the Acharya Sammelan.
‘Attack on Budha Amarnath pilgrims an attack on India’s sovereignty’
New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad termed the terrorist attack on Budha Amarnath Yatra as an attack on the sovereignty of the nation. In a statement issued on August 14, VHP joint secretary Dr Surendra Jain said the attack is a challenge to the Government of India and the Hindu society. More than a dozen yatris have been injured in the fatal attack. “Situation in Kashmir is very serious. First, they attacked Amarnath Yatris and now they attacked Budha Amarnath Yatra also, organised in Punchh and Rajouri areas of Jammu. It is clear that these blood thirsty jehadi devils are not misguided youth. They should be dealt with iron hands. They need no mercy. They should be crushed like anything,” Dr Jain said in the statement.
He said after Kashmir Valley, now they want the Hindus to evacuate this region of Jammu also. “We have started this Yatra to stop this plight. We have succeeded to a great extent. It is unfortunate that no big Muslim leader or none from the secular gang has condemned this attack. It is the duty of the Muslim leaders to come forward and take all measures to put a check on the jihadis,” he said.
‘Binding force of this nation is Hindutva’
Chennai: “Hindutva is the ‘Gurutva’ or the gravitational force. It is the Guru concept which binds us together. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in his autobiography specifically mentions about this binding force. You go to North, South, East or West, you will find that Bharat is one and this binding force is nothing but the Hindutva,” said RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri J Nandakumar while speaking at the Guru Puja function held at Infosys Hall on August 7. Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri Vanniyarajan, Mahanagar Sanghachalak Shri Kalyan Singh and CMD of Pure Chemicals Shri Ponnuswamy were also present.
Shri Nandakumar further said Guru Puja is a unique feature of the Hindu culture. Teachers, professors or lecturers can be seen all over in other religions or culture or traditions. But here in Bharat, in our Hindu culture, in our eternal culture, we are celebrating the Guru concept like Puja. Guru is necessary for our life. He said. “The Sangh wants to make this great nation greater, greatest and Guru of the whole world. For that purpose we are working with the binding force of Hindutva.” Shri Ponnuswamy shared his personal life experience and appreciated the wonderful work done by the Sangh swayamsevaks during Chennai floods.
ABVP felicitates meritorious students in Jammu
Jammu: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad felicitated meritorious students in Jammu on August 9. The students who were felicitated have excelled in various activities including academic, sports, NCC, NSS and cultural. Chief Guest of the occasion was Minister of State for Education in Government of J&K Smt Priya Sethi who felicitated 230 students. She also distributed prizes to the toppers of Sunil Padha Memorial Gyan Pratiyogita held in 2015 conducted by the ABVP J&K. Dr. Virender Koundal, assistant professor in Department of Economics, Jammu University, threw light on the working and activities of the ABVP. He informed the students about the role of ABVP in rebuilding the nation.
Road named after Vishwamitra Bahal in Delhi
New Delhi: The main road connecting East Patel Nagar and Patel Nagar Metro Station has been named after founder member of Laghu Udyog Bharati and noted industrialist the late Vishwamitra Bahal. The road was inaugurated by RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi and MP from New Delhi Parliamentary constituency Smt Meenakshi Lekhi on August 11.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Bhaiyaji said the people passing through the road may not be knowing much about Vishwamitra Bahalji, but the people in the Sangh and also in social life many people know his contribution. He was a Sangh swayamsevak and he came into the RSS contact during the very crucial phase of 1945-46 when there was atmosphere of violence and atrocities. There was none to help the Hindus coming from Pakistan.
The life and work of Vishwamitraji is inspiring. The Laghu Udyog Bharati which we see as a big organisation today has been guided by him for a long time. The best tribute to that soul is to follow his footsteps.
Wife of the late Vishwamitra Bahal, his son Shri Sunil Bahal, senior Pracharak Shri Premchand Goel, Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Kulbhushan Ahuja and many other senior leaders were also present on the occasion. n
Vow to make Akhand Bharat a reality
Nagpur: RSS National Executive member Shri Indresh Kumar on August 15 called upon the youth to take a vow to undo the Partition and make ‘Akhand Bharat’ a dream fulfilled. He was speaking at function organised by Yuva Ayaam for college students. Held at the magnificent ‘Vyasa Sabhagriha’ located at Dr Hedgewar Smriti Mandir premises in Reshambag area, the auditorium was over-flooded with surging groups of college youths who came to the venue singing and dancing to the tunes of patriotic songs and shouting slogans of Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jay.
In his inspiring speech Shri Indresh Kumar appealed to the youth to undo the wrong done by the British in connivance with the Congress leaders to vivisect the motherland and reunite the entire nation. “No land should remain detached from Bharat. People should respect each and every inch of the nation’s land; only then there will be love, peace, harmony in society, and people will work to re-unite the separated land,” he added.
Recalling the ancient history of Akhand Bharat, he said Mahabharata war was fought 5154 years ago. After the war Yudhishthira became the Emperor of this great nation that stretched from the Himalayas to the oceans. This meant it included the present day states of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Tibet, Nepal, Indonesia etc. This great country faced constant attacks from the west by the invading tribes of Shakas, Hunas, Kushans, Mughals and the Europeans.
The boundaries of Bharat were reduced over the years, still the country is maintaining its own identity based on moral and cultural values, he said. Virag Pachpore
Model Bank in Cooperative Sector
Pune: Bhoomipujan and foundation stone laying ceremony of the multi storied building of leading cooperative bank Jan Seva Sahakari Bank office was performed by RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi on August 15. Mayor of Pune Municipal Corporation Shri Prashant Jagtap was also present.
Saying that Maharashtra has a glorious history in the field of co-operation, he made special reference to the selfless contribution made by the directors and employees of the bank which alone made the bank to have consistent success for over 40 years. He expressed satisfaction that this could be achieved due to the inspirations they had from the RSS.
Elaborating the Indian concept of cooperation, he said the cooperative sector essentially calls for contributing to the society, and the Jan Seva Bank has always excelled in this regard. He complimented the Directors and employees of the Bank for their tireless devotion to the cause and hoped that with the track record of progress and with the new precious building, the bank will march towards the success.
Shri Pradeep Jagtap presented summery of the various milestones achieved by the Bank. He said the bank with 30 branches and deposits worth Rs 1,656 crore strengthened the confidence of the customers and would soon become multi-State

Positive response from govt over workers problems
Bhopal: The 136th Executive Committee meeting of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) held in Bhopal from August 12 to 14 expressed strong resentment over the delay in fulfilling the signed promises made on the charter of demands raised by the joint forum of central trade unions. The signed promises were given by both the Labour Minister and Labour Secretary in August 2015 as a sequence to the decisions taken by the 5th Ministerial Group headed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley formed by the Prime Minister.
The meeting discussed in detail the steps taken by the government during the last few months and decided to call for strike on September 2. Since during the meeting itself, the BMS received an invitation from Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for meeting on August 16 to discuss the Labour issues, it postponed the announcement of the strike.
The BMS delegation attended the meeting held at the Finance Minister’s chamber on August 16. After the discussion the Government agreed to most of the issues raised by the BMS. They included implementing minimum wages based on the formula adopted in 15th ILC and Supreme Court’s, decision, minimum wages to the contract employees, bonus to the employees of the PSUs, ESI
benefits to the Anganwadi and other schemes workers, enhancement in minimum pension to the PF contributors. “If all these are implemented it will be historic as it is for the first time that such a package of benefits to workers given by any government during the last few decades. The final decision on all these points will be taken on another meeting to be held on August 22,” said BMS north Zone organising secretary Shri Pawan Kumar.
