“We were grieved by the news of passing away of our senior Pracharak Shri Sureshrao Ketkar. A Pracharak for about 60 years, Sureshraoji was a karmath (arduous) and kathor parishrami (highly industrious), and lived a very simple life.
He successfully held different responsibilities from Zilla Pracharak in Sangali to Sahsarkarayvah at the Akhil Bharatiya level. He left deep imprints of his work in Maharashtra Prant and as Akhil Bharatiya Sharirik Pramukh. He acquired
specialty in different forms of
physical exercises and used them to stay fit. His style of presenting any topic with logic, clarity, to the point and in well knit form helped the audience recall many points.
Holding the Akhil Bharatiya responsibility he adopted a distinct style of guiding the big organisations like Sanskar Bharati, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh motivating their workers. In fact, he was identic with these
organisations.
While holding the responsibility of Solapur Vibhag Pracharak in Maharashtra he motivated Dr Ashokrao Kukade and two of his associates—Dr Alurkarji and Dr Bharadiaji, to start a hospital in the highly backward region of Latur. The same with the name, Vivekananda Hospital is today a very reputed hospital of Marathwada region and is equipped with all state-of-the-art facilities. It has become an ideal Sewa Prakalp. It is a co-incidence that Sureshrao stayed in the same Vivekananda Hospital during his last days and breathed his last there only. A Marathi song says Nu Sangh Sangh Jap Mantra Nijaantrat. Living such a meaningful life, he reflected Sangh from his mind, intellect and voice till the last breath. He was fully dedicated to Sangh throughout his life.
Paying our respectful homage to that holy, dedicated and arduous life we pray to the Almighty ‘May his soul rest in peace!’.”
Sarsanghachalak
Mohan Bhagat, & all Akhil Bharatiya office bearers
