Nagpur: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale planted saplings at the premises of RSS headquarters in Mahal, Nagpur, on July 1. The Maharashtra State Government took the mega plantation drive to plant nearly two crore plants all over the State. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi applauded the initiative through a tweet and termed it as “excellent initiative”. He urged everyone in Maharashtra to support and join the initiative.
Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat planted a sapling near the Sangh headquarters at Mahal, while Maharashtra Energy Minister Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule and many senior officials along with 10,000 children planted saplings in Ambajhari Lake catchment area.
Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale later said the Sangh would be a part of the green drive and plant large number of trees throughout the year across the country through its units (shakhas). Maharashtra Energy Minister Shri Bawankule was accompanied by MLCs Anil Sole and Prakash Gajbhiye, Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) SK Sinha and school children in the plantation drive. Nagpur Metro Railway Corporation Managing Director Brajesh Dixit along with other officials planted trees on the busy Amravati Road, which is also the route of the proposed Metro rail. The Metro Rail Corporation will plant about 5,000 trees in Nagpur during the season. n
Vijayawada: Taking strong exception to demolition of about 40 temples in the city during one week by local administration the social and religious organisations including the Hindu Dharma Parirakshana Samiti, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organised a protest meeting on July 6 and demanded reconstruction of the temples at their original places. Many leading saints from various organisations addressed the gathering. They said the government in Saudi Arabia offers land for the construction of temples, but it is quite opposite in our own land which is intolerable.
Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu assured a delegation that his government would rebuilt the temples. However, the delegation was not satisfied with his response, citing that without government orders officials won’t take such kind of decisions. They also demanded to dismiss Krishna, District Collector, who is alleged to be in involved in religious conversions as well as the city Municipal Commissioner.
Shri Kamalananda Bharati said the government appointed an IAS officer who was once involved in religious conversions as Krishna Pushkaram Special Officer. Member of Parliament, Kamineni Srinivas said Vijayeswara Swamy Temple would not be demolished. The Seethammavari Padalu Temple would be rebuilt after beautifying the area. Reconstruction of the temples would be completed before the commencement of Pushkarams. Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao, BJP MLC Somu Veeraraju, Gokaraju Rangaraju, BJP MP, and leaders Kanna Lakshminarayana, Siva Swamy of Siva Peetham Srinivasananda Swamy, Sri Sri Shiva Swaroopa, Mahant Yamunadas and many others were also present.
United States : In order to display reverence and appreciation to the teachers, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) has been organising functions across United States through Guru Vandana programmes. It is an annual event which offers Hindu students an opportunity to honour and recognise their teachers and their role in shaping the future of students. The programmes consist of inviting educators to the HSS Shakhas and honouring them according to the Hindu traditions. Teachers from elementary to high school level, principals, and even district superintendents participate in the activities.
This year a total of over 740 teachers participated in the Guru Vandana celebrations across United States. It includes 255 teachers from South-West zone, 190 teachers from West-Coast zone, 150 teachers from Mid-West zone, 84 teachers from South-East zone, and 60 teachers from East-Coast zone. The students across the US expressed their gratitude during the events in a variety of ways. In Aarya Chanakya Shakha at Troy, Michigan, students gave teachers a plaque, a certificate, a book, a flower, and even a personalised letter attesting their appreciation. n
Itanagar: The ‘Vision Document for the Janjatis of Bharat’ and also ‘The Vision Document for North-Eastern Region of Bharat’ prepared by Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram was released by Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Shri Wangki Lowang in Itanagar on July 2.
Kayan Ashram joint general secretary Shri Vishnukant said the Vision Document is not an administrative guideline, but a reference for prioritisation. Few service projects by government or other organisations can not solve the perennial issues, there must be a clear vision, dissemination of the required information, prioritisation of the measures and a strong will power among the stakeholders to bring out the required permanent solution. Referring to Hydro power projects in Arunachal Pradesh, he stressed the need not to harm the Parashuram Kund, as the holy place connects the State with rest of the country.
Chief Secretary Smti Shakunatala D Gamlin said the Vision Document by VKA is in the larger interest of the State. Shri Wangki Lowang appreciated the initiative and said the government should have done it long ago. RGU VC Prof Tamo Mibang, MLAs Tesam Pongte and Tamar Murtem, former IFSCAP presidents Shri Taba Hare and Shri Nabam Atum also attended the function. n
Thiruvallikeni: Commemorating 1000th year of Swami Ramanuja Acharya, a blood donation camp at Shri Nataraja Kalyana Mandapam, Thiruvallikeni (Tamil Nadu) was organised on July 3. A total of 76 people from the surrounding areas donated blood. Shri S Muthuvelpandi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and Shri TJ Ramani, president Srinivas Young Men’s Association graced the occasion.
Tambaram: Sewa Bharati conducted a day long Entrepreneur Workshop in Tambaram on July 4 wherein 165 men and women participated. The Entrepreneur Skill Trainers gave ideas on starting different projects. Bankers from three different nationalised banks gave suggestions on applying business loans. Success stories shared by successful entrepreneurs motivated the gathering. The gathering was welcomed by Shri Sankar Tambaram District President Sewa Bharati. n
Bengaluru: With the theme “Vanvasi, Nagarvasi, Gramvasi, we all are Bharatvasi” the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram organised a two-day national workshop for urban volunteers from July 3 to 4. A total of 136 selected delegates from 25 Prants attended the national workshop.
Inaugurating the workshop joint organising secretary of Kalyan Ashram Shri Atul Jog provided a brief history of the Kalyan Ashram work beginning from December 26, 1952. He emphasised on the values of bonding, partnership, upliftment and successful integration into the society.
Akhil Bharatiya Nagariya Pramukh Shri Shankar Lal Agarwal spoke passionately about the importance of organisation and criticality of bonding among the workers. Sah Nagariya Pramukh Shri Bhagwan Sahay apprised the audience of the contribution of Vanvasis mentioned in the Rig Veda. On the evening of July 2, a get together was organised which was attended by 100 distinguished guests from Bengaluru. Admiral (retd) Shri K Narayanan inaugurated the 2nd day session and emphasised the need of taking education to the doorsteps of Vanvasis for effective integration. n
Rajapalayam: The State Executive body of the Hindu Munnani demanded the State government to revoke the darshan charges in temples of the State. The two day executive meeting held from July 2 to 3 in Rajapalayam condemned the divisive thoughts being spread by DMK leader M Karunanidhi and also his demand to allow concessions and privileges to SC/STs after conversion to Christianity. The meeting adopted 14 resolutions on various issues. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Hindu Munnani founder Shri Ramagopalan, Hindu Jagran Manch organiser Shri Ashok Prabhakar, Kshetra organiser Shri Jagdeesh Karanth, State president Shri Kaadeswara C Subramaniam, etc. n
Ahmedabad: Noted economist and Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak of RSS Dr Bajranglal Gupt said the country needs the economic policy, which ensures the growth rate benefits to the last man of the society. Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the two-day Paschim Kshetra convention of Laghu Udyog Bharati in Ahmedabad on July 3, he said when the world witnessed recession in 2008, the small scale industries saved Indian economy. He said even today many countries of the world face recession due to their faulty economic policies. A total of 400 workers from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa participated in the convention which began on July 2.
Dr Gupt said no economic policy can draw fruitful results until it is framed keeping in mind the Indian culture. The Planning Commission in our country followed the Russian model. That is why it could not succeed. Remaining poor or backward is not in our nature, as we have never been a poor nation. Our small scale industries can again make us world economic power, he added.
Referring to the gap between rich and poor, he said that since the government cannot ensure jobs to all, but the small scale industries provide employment to about 12 crore people. He stressed the need to stop looking at small scale industries with western outlook. There is huge gap between the policy and the reality, which should be resolved by both the government and the industrialists collectively. Many schemes of the government like Skill India, Digital India, Mudra Bank etc are useful for the small scale industries.
Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel informed the gathering about the initiatives taken by her government for the benefit of the small scale industries. Prior to it, national president of Laghu Udyog Bharati Shri Omprakash Gupta highlighted the activities of the LUB. n
New Delhi: Rashtriya Sikh Sangat welcomed the Haryana Government’s announcement of compensation to the 1984 victims of Pataudi and Hond Chillad. Sikh Sangat national president Shri Gurcharan Singh Gill said they had been pressing on making the Garg Commission Report open and action on it for some time. He however said the value of the amount that the State government declared is very low as compared to the loss which occured during that time. He urged the Chief Minister to constitute a sub-committee to study the Commission’s report so that action can be ensured against those who are guilty for that massacre.
Malda: The 15 years efforts of Ekal Vidyalaya workers turned Aklul Bdupadha village under Malda District of West Bengal 100 per cent literate. The Ekal Vidyalaya was started in this village in 2001 when hardly one or two people in the total village population of around 272 people had received even elementary education. Currently, there is no illiterate child between the age group of 6 to 14 years in the village. The village committee in 2005 built an Ekal school and at present there are 40 students enrolled in the school.
