News Round-Up : Bhaiyaji interacts with Towers’ residents

Ghaziabad: Adopting a new approach to establish wide contacts with residents of high-rise buildings (towers) that abound in Ghaziabad District and Noida, the RSS workers organised a meeting of representatives from 333 towers with RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi. Bhaiyaji in his inimitable style guided them in a brotherly manner to look to Hindu ethos as the underlying principle of all activities in life and dedicating oneself to the cause of the nation without expecting anything in return.
Bhaiyaji's interaction with the towers' residents evoked such a hearty response from them that as many as 72 participants expressed their hearts out in response to various queries raised by him. The first session began with Shri Joshi asking about the state of social mixing in the towers: what social activities are undertaken by the residents to reach out to each other, do they have at least a nodding acquaintance with the fellow residents, are any programmes taken up in respect of environment, cleanliness, and social health or such other topics of mass interest? The response from the gathering was overwhelming. Bhaiyaji also asked the participants about the shortcomings of the Hindu society which need removal, and stressed that the work of reforming had to be undertaken by its members themselves. He said the solutions to our problems can be and should be sought from the timeless teachings emanating from sages, thinkers and social leaders of Hindu society. He said the Hindus who follow hundreds of sects and sub sects and worship a number of differently named gods, have been tied in a single thread of unity by the RSS on the basis of oneness of Bharat encompassing ages. Out of about 600-odd towers in Ghaziabad and Noida, the RSS workers made a list of 546 after a hectic tower-to-tower contact during the last two months appointing Tower-Pramukh. Of these 546, 333 were present in the meeting. The Sangh workers are now contacting these people almost on daily basis as follow-up action.

 Murder of Mata Chand Kaur is unpardonable offence

The murder of Mata Chand Kaur, wife of former head of the Namdhari sect the late Satguru Jagjit Singh on April 4 in Ludhiana shocked the nation. She was 88. In his condolence message RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi described the killing of Mataji as ‘an unpardonable offence’. He said mother is revered even before the God in Bharatiya traditions. Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh described Mataji as sakshat avatar (practical incarnation) of sewa. Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said Mataji was a messiah of the deprived people. Rashtriya Sikh Sangat patron Sardar Chiranjeev Singh and national president Sardar Gurcharan Singh Gill recalled the affection that Mataji showered on the followers. Punjab and Haryana Governor Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki and Gujarat Governor Prof OP Kohli remembered her spiritual powers. Rashtriya Sikh Sangat national organising secretary Shri Avinash Jaiswal and general secretary Dr Avatar Singh Shastri visited Bhaini Saheb and paid tribute to Mataji. Head of Namdhari sect Satguru Udai Singh Maharaj appealed to the followers of Mataji not to take the law in their hands as revenge and let the law takes its own course.                                          n

 Lathicharge on NIT students condemned

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) strongly condemned the brutal lathicharge on NIT students in Srinagar and demanded immediate action against the culprits. ABVP general secretary Vinay Bidre demanded adequate security to the NIT students. Reacting strongly to the brutal lathicharge on the NIT Srinagar students, VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia demanded immediate action against not only the concerned police officers but also on all those who ordered the lathicharge. He said the students were humiliated by local jihadi students and their supporters by saying Pakistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad in the NIT campus after Bharat lost IPL Cricket against West Indies.  In a letter to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas secretary Shri Atul Kothari demanded a probe into the incident. He said the anti-national elements are feeling stronger after the JNU episode. Therefore strong action should be taken against the elements, who are disturbing peace in the country.         n

 Show of Hindu spiritual strength
in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: About 2.5 lakh people participated in the Mahabharatha Dharma Raksha Samgamam-2016 held at Kozhikode beach on April 6. It was a real show of Hindu spiritual strength. The Samgamam was jointly organised by Chinmaya Mission, Sri Ramakrishna Mission, Matha Amruthanandamayi Mat, Kolathoor Advaithashramam, Hindu Dharma Raksha Vedi, VHP, etc. People from Kasarago, Kannur, Wynadu, Malappuram and Palakkad participated the event. Swami Dayananda Saraswathi Nagar, the venue of the Samgamam, witnessed the resolution to  protect the right and might of the Hindu society.
The flag hoisting was performed by Kovil Mala Raman Rajamannan, tribal king from Idukki district.  The Mukhyakarmmi (leading priest) of the Ganapathi Homan was Dr TS Karumathra  Vijayan Thanthri, a scholar par excellence, who does not belong to the traditional so-called Brahmin order. Soorykalati Sooryan Subramanian Namboothirippad of centuries old Sooryakalati family of traditional Branhmin order joined him in the auspicious karma.
Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said caste-religious differences should go. Swami Prakashananda, head of Shivagiri Math, founded by Sri Narayana Guru, delivered the keynote address. Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy spoke about the Hindu cultural heritage. Swami Chidananda Puri presided over the function. The speakers called for taking the challenge to protect Bharat from the onslaughts of jihad and evangelic menaces. ‘Ganga is the symbol of our cultural values’

Haridwar: Divya Prem Sewa Mission, under the banner of Ardhkumbha Manthan, organised a lecture on the ‘Importance of the Ganga in Development of Bharatiya Culture’ in Haridwar on April 11. RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal said Ganga is the symbol of Bharatiya cultural values for thousands of years. Her flow binds Bharat together religiously, culturally and ideologically.  He said not only Bharatiya but many foreign scholars also compared Ganga water with the nectar.  Bihar Governor Shri Ramnath Kovind said one gets both good and bad things during the churning. The significance of the human life is that we accept the good things and reject the bad. Ardha Kumbha is the platform, which brings together scholars for a particular cause. He described the Ganga as Jeevandayini, one which gives life.
Presiding over the discussion Union Minister Umashri Bharati said Ganga is the cultural flow of Bharat. She should flow without any hindrance. She elaborated on the steps being taken by the government for cleaning the River. Sant Vijay Kaushal Maharaj said there is no existence of pilgrimage places in Bharat without the Ganga.                        

 New Year celebration in DU

Sanskrit Department of Delhi University decorated the entire University campus on April 8 to welcome the Bharatiya new year, Vikrami Samvat 2073. Eminent astrologist Dr Pawan Sinha and Additional Secretary of UGC Dr Pankaj Mittal along with many other eminent scholars addressed a huge gathering of students gathered at Satyakam Auditorium. Dr Sinha explained in detail how Bharatiya calendar is more scientific than the Gregorian calendar. “Today the entire world seems to be having insight and materialism is getting defeated globally. But we cannot search the truth without the knowledge of Sanskrit.  What we achieved 5,000 years ago is scientifically proved correct even today. What is needed is to bring in light that glorious knowledge,” Dr Sinha added.
Dr Pankaj Mittal stressed the need to have a pledge on new year to work every work with full honesty. “Finishing our task with utmost honesty is the real Rashtrabhakti,” she said. She appealed to the people to study any language but use their signature in Hindi only.  Prof Deviprasad Tripathi and Prof Sudhikant Bhardwaj also spoke. Dr RC Bhardwaj, Head of the Sanskrit Department, said the prime objective of organising the function is to help the countrymen feel proud that Bharat has given a rich calendar to the world.                               

 Mudras—A Science for Spiritual and Healthy Life

Vijayabharatham Pathipagam has published a book Mudirai udalvazhi Nalam (Health through Mudra). The book was released at Club Melange Auditorium in Erode on April 5. RSS Uttar Tamil Nadu Sah Prant Karyavah Shri Jagadeesan welcomed the gathering. Arsha Vidya Vruksham, Erode Pujya Swami Nithyamukthananda presided over the function. He spoke on the importance of Mudra. He said, “One could see Mudra used by God in temples. There is scientific significance in these Mudras. It is helpful for spiritual and health development, with no side effects.  For health, there are 2,000 Mudras, but only 230 were used in day-to-day’s life. We can practice these Mudras while sitting, standing, lying or watching TV etc.”  The first copy of the book was received by Shri MK Mageswaran of Hero Motors. “We are performing Mudras in our daily life. Saying Namaste or Vanakkam is also a Mudra.  Mudras regulates 72,000 Naadis and Panchaboothas in our body. Mudra is a science,” he said. The book was written by Shri Shrivardhan in Hindi and was translated in Tamil by Balakandaswamy.                         n

 Dependence on government needs to be reduced — Dr Manmohan Vaidya

“The concept of a welfare state is alien to Bharatiya traditions. We believe that the society should not be dependent upon the government and it should have a system depending upon its own strength. If we have to promote swadeshi society our dependence on the state should gradually reduce. The RSS follow this method in practice. That is why all its organisations are dependent on the society and not on the state. The swayamsevaks run more than 1.60 lakh service projects across the country. But more than 90 per cent of them are run purely with the help of the society only,” said RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya, while addressing the new year celebration by Swadeshi Jagran Manch in Delhi on April 8. SJM national convener Shri Arun Ojha, Rashtriya Sangathak Shri Kashmirilal and national co-convener Shri Saroj Mitra also spoke.
