New Delhi: A high level delegation of intellectuals called on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on March 14 and presented him a memorandum seeking his personal intervention for promotion of Sanskrit. The memorandum carries signatures from 1,320 dignitaries. The memorandum prominently demanded implementation of three language formula in CBSE affiliated schools. They also demanded to start teaching of Sanskrit in Navodaya schools, set up Sanskrit Departments in all central universities, extend the status of central university to Sampoornananda Sanskrit University, connecting Sanskrit with Digital India and Skill India programmes, formation of Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrit Board. The Prime Minister assured the delegation to consider their demands sympathetically. The delegation comprised of Shri Atual Kothari from Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, MP Shri Omprakash Yadav, HoD of Sanskrit Department in University of Delhi Prof Ramesh Bhardwaj, Dr V Dayalu and Dr Brijesh Gautam from Sanskrit Shikshak Sangh.

Mumbai: Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram will organise National Archery Competition in the last week of December in Mumbai. Vanvasi Archers from different parts of the country will participate in the competition. The decision was taken at the Pratinidhi Mandal meeting of Kalyan Ashram. Kalyan Ashram president Shri Jagdev Ram Oraon, vice presidents Shri Kripa Prasad Singh and Neelima Patte, general secretary Shri Chandrakant Dev, and other office bearers were also present. Shri Chandra Kant Deo presented general secretary’s report, while Shri Atul Jog and Shri Somayajulu presented reports on various programmes. Shri Shatipad Thakur presented a report on 7th National Vanvasi Sports meet held in Ranchi. A report on birth centenary celebration of Naga freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu was also presented. Today a total of 1,25,490 students are getting education in various educational projects of the Kalyan Ashram. A total of 9,94,367 patients were treated by health workers. A total of 329 daily and 3,322 weekly sports centres are being run in Vanvasi areas. There are 90 Agriculture Development Projects, 68 vocational trainning centres, 2,560 Self-Help Groups, and village development activities in 108 villages.
Raipur: Intellectuals assembled at a symposium organised by Chhattisgarh Vishwa Samvad Kendra on March 5 expressed grave concern over the anti-national activities of some leading educational institutions like JNU. They appealed to the students and the countrymen to be alert and keep a close watch on any anti-national activity in their vicinity. Prominent among them were senior journalist Shri Madhukar Dwivedi, Dr Subhadra Rathore, Prof Vasudev Shastri, Prof Satyanarayan Agrawal etc. RSS Prant Prachar Pramukh Dr Surendra Kumar appealed to the people to express their opinion against any anti-national activity through the social media.
Thrissur: Former Thrissur Zilla Sanghachalak, G Mahadevan who was popularly known as “G” passed away on March 5 following age related ailment. He was 85. He was senior most swayamsevak of Thrissur. He joined the Sangh during 1946 when the first Sangh Shakha was started in Thrissur. He was jailed during the satyagraha in 1948. He became Thrissur’s first Zilla Karyavah in early 1960s. He was jailed under MISA during Emergency from June 1975 to March 1977. After that he became Zilla Sanghachalak. His contribution to make Sangh a force to reckon with in Thrissur District was legendary. He was part and parcel of the social life of Thrissur in general and all Hindu movements in particular. Dehradun: Uttarakhand unit of Sewa International celebrated Fyunli Kauthig, a festival dedicated to the spirit of womanhood on March 8 at Anchal Dairy Ground in Simli Village situated on the banks of Pinder River. The event was attended by more than 1,200 women who came from the farthest corners of Rudraprayag and Chamoli Districts. There were Vanvasi women, college girls, housewives, women from various socio-economic backgrounds who are today on the same platform because of the community mobilisation efforts by Sewa International. Sewa International on this occasion honoured nine women for their exemplary work in the fields of environment conservation, women empowerment, education, health, public welfare and sport.
New Delhi: Famous Jhandewala Temple organised a series of health camps in the temple premises. On March 6, the temple organised a blood donation camp in which 46 people donated blood. On March 13, an eye check-up camp was organised in association with Kailash Eye Care. Apart from eye check-up, some blood tests were also conducted. About 200 patients were checked-up at the camp. Equally, a nature care and acupressure camp is being organised in the temple on every Sunday for the last six months. A total of 82 patients availed the facility on March 13.
New Delhi: People of Tibet who have been living in exile for decades and also the people from various organisations of Bharat organised a dharna at Jantar Mantar on March 10 to raise their voice against the atrocities being perpetuated by the Chinese government on Tibetans.
The protestors sought freedom of Tibet. BJP MP Shri Shanta Kumar said Tibet is our neighbour and we should extent every possible help to it. JD(U) MP Shri Vashishtha Narayan Singh termed the attitude of China as unethical. Acharya Shri Yeshi Phunchok, MP in Tibetan Government in exile, said their struggle for freedom will continue. Shri Pankaj Goel, president of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch, Delhi, said Bharatiyas understand the pain of slavery, as they have suffered it for over one thousand years. He said China’s occupation in Tibet is illegal.
