In the colonial era, we were called India, then why should we prevail with the colonial hangover when other nations have declared themselves independent and adopted their native culture and amended their Constitutions. He listed four evils plaguing the Hindus in the South i.e., State Endowment Department that dip into the Hindus to subsidise others; pseudo secularists under the mask of various doctrines; intolerance, and saffron terrorism invented by opportunistic politicians to denigrate saints.
Annual Gram Vikas meeting in Thirthahalli
Thirthahalli: Three-day annual national meet of Gram Vikas Yojna of RSS was organised at Thirthahalli in Karnataka from February 26 to 28. Nearly 200 selected workers representing various states attended the meeting and discussed in detail how to accelerate the work of Gram Vikas in the country. They also shared the experience with each other as many of them are conducting unique experiments for village development in their respective areas. Itihas Divas celebrated in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: “Due to the efforts of King Kharavela, consciousness regarding Mahabharata in Odisha is richer and clearer than that of other states,” said Itihas Sankalan Samiti national vice-president Prof Narayan Rao on February 28. He was addressing fifth State-level celebration of Itihas Divas. Dr Rao mainly spoke on the works and achievements of Kharavela. “King Kharavela created a unique tradition by creating national unity in the history of Bharat. And he will be remembered forever for this,” he said. Prof Himanshu Sekhar Pattnaik shared his thoughts on glorious history of Odisha. Samiti’s State president Dr Dadhibaman Mishra spoke about the vision of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana. Former VC of Utkal University of Culture Prof Narendra Mishra was also present. Use Bharateeya languages in Courts —Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra
Allahabad: “Our mother tongue is the most natural language for us. We live in it and we dream in it, because it is there deep down in our hearts. Our most influential expressions are always in our own language and therefore we must make sincere efforts to ensure that our law and judicial system are prominently based on our national language and other Bharateeya languages,” said former Judge of the Supreme Court Smt Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra on February 27 while speaking as chief guest at the two day national seminar on ‘Indian Languages in the Province of Law and Justice’ organised jointly by Law Department, University of Allahabad and Bharatiya Bhasha Abhiyan. She lamented that even several decades after Independence, the national language and other Bharateeya languages are yet to enjoy their due position and hoped that such seminars would help a lot in changing the status quo.
Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. RL Hangloo said several nations of the world, big as well as small, have achieved great heights in the field of law and justice as also in other fields of human action just because they preferred to embrace their own languages in all walks of life.
Convener of Bharatiya Bhasha Abhiyan Shri Arun Bhardwaj introduced the organisation while its patron Shri Atul Kothari introduced the theme of the seminar. n
Accelerate the efforts to unite the society: Mohan Bhagwat
Patna: “We are not against anyone and we believe in taking all together. We should not have prejudices and jealousy against anyone. Since Hindu society is a responsible society of this country we have to organise it. There is a need to accelerate the efforts in this regard. Since we are doing the God’s work, success is sure,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a gathering of swayamsevaks on February 28. Shri Bhagwat reached Patna on February 25 and addressed many meetings of the workers till February 28. He also planted saplings at the Sangh Karyalaya of Patna. The same day he released two books—Atma Ki Yatra and Srushti Rahasya written by Shri Mahesh Prasad Sinha, and one book, Sanatan Parampara ke Vahak Gandhi and Golwalkar written by Vivekananda Tewari.
Talk on Integral Humanism
Hyderabad: Centre for Integral Research, SAMVIT Kendra organised a talk on “Integral Humanism” on February 27 at the G Narayanamma Institute of Technology. Noted economist Dr Bajranglal Gupt, was the chief speaker. Prof Lakshmi, former HoD, Department of History, Osmania University was the chief guest. Dr Rahul Shastri, president of Samvit Kendra presided over the Talk. The programme was attended by about 150 professionals from various fields. Prof. Lakshmi spoke about the importance of building a true narrative of Bharat based on the Bharateeya ethos. She also spoke about how the training in important universities builds a thought framework which looks at all things with suspicion.
Dr Bajranglal Gupt spoke about the four key dimensions of building our society based on native genius. He elaborated on the national chiti. Concepts of Arthayaam, as propounded by Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya which guarantees the well-being of all was also discussed.

Mohali: Baba Lakha Singh while speaking at the 639 birth anniversary function of Guru Ravidas in Mohali, Punjab, described Guru Ravidas as the form of Vaheguru and a great social reformer as well as a guide. The function jointly was organised by Shri Guru Ravidas Welfare Society and Rashtriya Sikh Sangat. Baba stressed the need to follow the ideals and teachings of Guru Ravidas. Sant Baba Nirmaldas described Guru Ravidas as a messiah who worked for eradication of social evils, superstitions and social discrimination. Sikh Sangat general secretary Shri Avinash Jaiswal said the teachings of Guru Ravidas are lighthouse for us and they would help us regain the pristine glory of the our nation. Sardar Jasbir Singh Mehta said Guru Ravidas is working as a panacea for crores of people in the society. President of Gurunanak Mission International Sardar Karnail Singh, Dr Avatar Singh Shastri and Sardar Baldev Singh also spoke on the occasion. n

Bhopal: “Terrorism is an attempt to snatch freedom and smash the values of life. Terrorism is not confine to just terrorising people through weapons, but misguiding people intellectually is also a form of terrorism. When Pakistan failed to harm Bharat in direct wars of 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999 it started proxy war which continues to confuse people even today. The five wars with Pakistan which culminated for six month and 26 days claimed the lives of about 23,000 people but the proxy war has claimed the lives of about two lakh people,” said senior Pracharak and RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar while speaking on Intellectual terrorism on February 27. He was speaking at a function organised to launch the Bhopal unit of Rashtriya Jagran Manch.

Govt is serious of uplifting Dalits: Paswan
Union Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Ramvilas Paswan said the NDA government is taking many concrete decisions for the betterment of the deprived sections of the society. Speaking at Guru Ravidas Jayanti celebration in New Delhi he said many Bills have been introduced by the government and some have been even passed at the Rajya Sabha. He said the Dalits need to unite as a collective force if they want to live a respectful life. He said the teachings of Guru Ravidas are the lighthouse for progress.
Presiding over the function former Union Minister Dr Sanjay Paswan stressed the need to present the demands before the government with logics.
Dr Udit Raj, MP, urged the society to speak in collective voice. Former Minister Dr Satyanarayan Jatiya said to follow the teachings of Guru Ravidas for bettermet of the society.

Tribute to Veer Savarkar on his Death Anniversary
Port Blair: South Andaman unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh organised a pubic function at Veer Savarkar Vatika in Port Blair to pay tribute on his 50th death anniversary. Veteran Sangh Pracharak Shri Madhubhai Kulkarni was present on the occasion. Prior to the function all the degnitaries and also the general public paid tribute to Savarkar at his room in the Celular Jail.
Floral tribute was paid at his statute installed at the Vatika. Zilla Karyavah Shri S Sarathi welcomed Shri Madhubhai Kulkarni, Dakshin Banga Prant Pracharak Shri Bidyut Mukherjee, Nagar Sanghachalak Shri Vijay Kumar and Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati of Chinmaya Mission. Swami Shuddhananda called upon the people to draw inspiration from Savarkar and work for the nation. Shri Madhubhai Kulkarni highlighted various aspects of Savarkar’s life.
‘Seditious activities in universities make me angry’
Nagpur: “Anti-national slogans at some universities in Bharat make me very angry,” said Smt. Mahadevi, widow of martyr Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad. She was speaking at an event ‘JNU Ka Sach’ organised in Nagpur on February 27. Entire family of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa including his mother, wife, brother and his two year old daughter were also present at the event. A replica of Amar Jawan memorial was created at the venue and floral tributes were paid to the martyrs. Shri Pravin Datke, Mayor of Nagpur presented a memento to the family. Col.(Retd) Deshpande also spoke at the occasion.
ABVP organising secretary Shri Sunil Ambekar who was the main speaker on this occasion said the unfortunate incidence of February 9 in JNU was not the first of its kind but many such incidents have occurred in past there. These types of activities are happening across universities in Bharat. People with Leftist leanings are behind this. In JNU, they demand freedom for Kashmir while in Jadavpur University, they raise slogans like Nagaland ki azadi, Manipur ki azadi. It is done in a very systematic manner. He said the ABVP has been opposing such anti-nationals and their anti-national acts for long. Many ABVP workers have been murdered by the Naxalists. In Kerala, student workers, Vishal and Sachin, were murdered within the campus. The responsibility to fight with such type of attack in Bharat is not that of army, but of the society. Matri Bhasha Diwas in Chennai
Matri Basha Diwas was celebrated in Chennai on February 27. UNESCO has proclaimed February 21 as the International Mother Language Day to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity. Around 11 languages were represented at the function. Shri Paswakumar, Perambur Bhag Sanghachalak, presided over the
function.
Smt Alamelu Krishnan, linguistic scholar said, “People should learn and use their mother tongue”. A delegate of Vagriboli, a Narikuravar (tribal) language which is a combination of several Bharateeya languages shared pride of his language. Rupa, who is one of the 20 lakh Tulu language speaking people shared her fear of losing her language to hegemonic local and global languages. Bharateeya languages belongs to each other and all have the roots in the parent language Sanskrit. We should respect and accept each other to grow together. English cannot be ignored but we should not accept it at the cost of our Mother tongue.
Intellectualism should not be confused with good English speaking skills. We should grow multi dimensionally by keeping our roots intact. No language is untouchable. Use it as a tool instead of getting tilled in English. Shri Ramachandran from Samskrita Bharati said it is the Bharateeya tradition to offer linguistic samarpana to the society in its pure form as it is given by the God.
