RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat stressed that education should inculcate pride and self-reliance among the people. He was speaking at a function organised by Gurukul, a school for Vanvasi children founded by Shri Girish Prabhune in Pune. “Education is the basic need of a human being and is a fundamental right too. But the question is whether the present education system honestly fulfills this need. How many people enjoy the right to education? Fact is that the modern education neither makes one self-respected nor self-reliant. A human being should know how to live with pride. The objective of education should be to teach everyone how to live as a good human being,” the Sarsanghachalak said.
He stressed the need to bring deprived people into the mainstream and said the institutions like Gurukul would make perfect contribution in this regard. He also emphasised the need to impart education in mother tongue. Shri Bhagwat also felicitated some prominent personalities including Dr Narendra Jadhav (Mumbai), Sushri Indumati Katdare (Baroda), Shri Mahesh Sharma (Jhabua), Shri Sunil Deshpande (Chandrapur), Dr Prabhakar Mande (Nagar), Shri Ramesh Patange (Mumbai), Smt Lakshmibai Gorde (Pune), Shri Ravindra Sharma and Shri Ganesh Shastri (Varanasi), Shri Shantilal Mutha (Pune) and Shri Hemendra Shah (Pune).
Marxists are the most Intolerant:

Eminent historian Dr MGS Narayanan termed the Marxists as the most intolerant people. Inaugurating the 33rd State conference of Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram at Kozhikode on January 23, he dwelt at length on the false propaganda being unleashed by a section of so-called social thinkers who are themselves the proponents of intolerance. “It is difficult to assume if any other political party is as intolerant as the Marxists. They have no sense of guilt to murder mercilessly even their own followers, if they fail to abide by the dictates of the party line; and to justify their heinous crime. They ruthlessly display there intolerance in Bharat. In fact they are insulting Karl Marx in the name of Marxism,” he said.
Director of Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram Shri P Parameswarn lighted the lamp. Former director general of Indian Coast Guard Dr Prabhakaran Paleri presided over the function. Former Regional Director of Archeologicial Survey of India Dr KK Muhammed spoke on the Archeologicial observations in Bharateeya scriptures. Ideological Mahakumbha during Simhastha
Preparations for the Ideological Mahakumbha to be held in Ujjain from May 12 to 14 during the Simhastha Kumbha are in full swing. The Mahakumbha would be organised at Ninaura, a place between Ujjain and Indore. Apart from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, scholars from world over would participate in the Mahakumbha. More than 300 foreign delegates would also participate. The event has mainly been conceptualised by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Prior to the final event to be organised in May, four discussions were held. The first discussion was held in Bhopal from April 17 to 19, 2015 on the theme ‘Value based life’. The second discussion was held in Indore from October 24 to 26, 2015 on ‘Dharma for human well-being’. The third discussion was held in Bhopal from November 21 to 22, 2015 on ‘Global warming and climate change’. The fourth discussion was held in Bhopal from February 12 to 14, 2016 on ‘Science and spirituality’. Addressing the fourth discussion RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal said there is clash between religion and science in the west. He was addressing a group of social media enthusiasts at Hubballi, Karnataka on February 14. “It is evident from the suicide note of Rohith Vemula in Hyderabad that it is the same ‘progressive students’ organisation which is behind the recent ruckus. Vemula had referred to a former SFI leader and CPM national secretary Sitaram Yachuri’s pro-savarnna approach in his Facebook post. Now Thrippunithura incident again reveals the ‘septic’ lines of thought of the so-called progressive students’ union. Colorado Legislature honours Mahatma Gandhi
In a historic event, the State of Colorado in USA honoured Mahatma Gandhi by passing a joint resolution in the Legislative Chambers and issuing a proclamation declaring February 12 as Mahatma Gandhi Day in the State. In a special event at Colorado State House on February 12, both State Legislative Chambers—the House of Representatives and the Senate—passed the Resolution
which stated that Mahatma Gandhi “dedicated his life to fighting
injustice with non-violence and peaceful resistance.”
The celebration was initiated by Shri Sudhir Verma, Sanghachalak of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Denver, and sponsored by the House Representative Dr Janak Joshi, the sole Bharateeya legislator in the State of Colorado. Dr Joshi is originally from Gujarat, Bharat. Copies of the Resolution were sent to Bharateeya Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharateeya Ambassador to the US Arun Singh and Prof. Ved Nanda, president of HSS-USA. A dozen Representatives and Senators, all of non-Bharateeya origin, joined Dr Joshi to speak on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The same day, Colorado’s Governor John W. Hickenlooper issued a Proclamation declaring February 12, 2016, as Mahatma Gandhi Day in the State of Colorado”.
Sangamam of Sangh families in Chennai
‘Sakthi Sangamam’, an informal gathering of swayamsevak families and sympathisers was held in Chennai. Around 1,528 men, women and children from 640 families had a chit-chat with various Sangh adhikaris. Traditional games like ammanai, pallankuzhi, paandi, paramapadam etc arosed enthusiasm among visitors. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Sthanumaalyan, Kshetra Pracharak. RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhayaji Joshi, while addressing a gathering of intellectuals in Sambalpur, Odisha, on January 29, said the Hindu society has been the most tolerant society in the world. There is no place for intolerance in its blood and conduct. “Intolerance simply do not exist in Bharat, because 80 per cent of the population in Bharat is Hindu. Just imagine, if Hindus became intolerant the nation would go berserk,” he said. Odisha Paschim Prant Sanghachalak Shri Bipin Bihari Nanda, Sambalpur Bibhag Sanghachalak Shri Ashok Behera and Mahanagar Sanghachalak Dr. Sukant Kumar Panigrahi also shared the dais.

Swayamsevaks pay homage to Siachen martyr
The mortal remains of Sepoy Ramamoorthy reached his native village Kudisadanapalli, Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu on February 16. Hundreds of villagers and army men paid homage to the brave soldier. Around 20 RSS swayamsevaks from Krishnagiri District also paid homage. Sepoy Ramamoorthy was a brave, courage, dedicated soldier and was part of several successful operations.n

Hindutva as way of life gets global acceptability: Dattaji
RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale said the result of the RSS work is very much visible for all of us to see. He said Hindu thought is getting acceptability worldwide. Narrating incidents he said in Tamil Nadu a top DMK leader declared that his party was not anti-Hindu, his wife often visit temples and he too receives prasadam with reverence. In Kerala, a Muslim Minister in present government told people that his forefathers were Hindus only three generations back and they changed their way of worship thereafter. In Goa, a Christian Minister said he is a Hindu in the cultural sense. When the Japanese Prime Minister visited Bharat, he accompanied Bharateeya Prime Minister to Varanasi to take part in Ganga prayer. Previously, the foreign dignitaries were taken to Taj Mahal only, he said.
Addressing a gathering of over 5,000 swayamsevaks in Meerut on February 14. Shri Hosabale termed Hinduism as the scent of Bharateeya soil. It is our way of life and not just a religion. And as a way of life, Hinduism is being accepted the world over. Only a few years ago, Newsweek, the renowned American magazine published a cover story proclaiming “We are all Hindus now” meaning thereby that by assimilating yoga, pranayam, Ayurveda, Sanskrit and norms of Hindu family life as also the Hindu view that the universal God can be accessed via any path one chooses, most Americans have become practising Hindus, he added.
Referring to recent JNU episode he said the events are part of a wider conspiracy to deflect the country from the onward march of greatness.

Two day national seminar at Arogyadham
Deendayal Research Institute (DRI) and Union Ministry of AYUSH jointly organised a two day seminar in Chitrakoot to discuss the challenges emerging in Ayurveda research. Curing addiction through water therapy
At the time when thousands of people are falling prey to the growing racket of drugs and addiction, the efforts of an individual at Behta Hajipur area of Loni under Ghaziabad district have helped over 10 lakh people to get rid of addiction. The man is Pandit Jaikumar Sharma who left his government job several years back and fully dedicated himself to the social cause. He cures through water therapy. Apart from it, he is also trying to connect the people with the rich Bharateeya values that most people are forgetting under the influence of alien cultures through the Bhavya Jagjanani Darbar, which has emerged as prime spiritual centre in the region.
22nd annual function of the Darbar was celebrated on February 15. Addressing the gathering on this occasion Sadhvi Prachi said the anti-national elements are trying to dominate and the nationalists are silent. She said the nation cannot be left to the power hungry politicians. All patriotic people will have to come forward to protect it. Pandit Jaikumar Sharma, who is popularly known as ‘Jalwale Guruji’, said the Bharateeya values of life provide the cure to all ills of the world. n
