Readers’ Forum : Dharma Yuddha—A War With Principles

(Organiser, 1.11.2015); This refers to the article titled ‘Dharma Yuddha – A War With Principles’ by Shri Nirmal Joshi in Organiser. The article has beautifully described the highly civilised code of conduct which was followed by the Hindu warriors in the war during ancient times. Manu Smriti mentions these rules in verse 91 to 94 of chapter –7. Non violation of these rules was followed strictly. The Muslim invaders, who invaded and ruled over Bharat, were savage and very cruel. But the Hindu warriors defending the country continued to follow rules of Dharma Yuddha. The best example of this can be that of Prithviraj Chauhan and Muhammad Ghori. But Shivaji was very intelligent, who paid Muslim rulers in the same coin and was successful. All these years we have been suffering at the hands of very weak countries like Pakistan as Bharat has been following the same old concept of Dharma Yuddha. Pakistan liquidated the entire Hindu and Sikh population from Pakistan, but Bharat meant to be the homeland for the Hindus and non- Muslims gave special rights to the Muslims. We must follow Shivaji if we want to exist and there should be complete reciprocity in dealing with our enemies.

(Organiser, 6.12.15 ); This refers to the article titled ‘Bharat Holds the Key’ in Organiser by Vikrant Pachnanda. Over a couple of decades the world is facing an acute crisis called ‘Global Climate Change’. Climate change is all about to do with the change in the patterns of various climatic seasons, its intensity, ambient temparature and consequently its effect on vegetation, rains, topography and also human behaviour etc.  Consequences are resulting in global warming. The main cause of this disastrous is attributed towards ‘Carbon-Emission’ by various sources such as Industries, automobiles, domestic—Fuels etc. We find developed countries blaming developing countries for this carbon emission, but they forget the way they developed by emitting carbon from decades. Besides we can also find developed countries consuming a huge quantity of oxygen disproportionately as compared to the developing countries. The fact of the present situation is that no any country can afford to reduce carbon emission which can adversely affect their economy. The overall affect on the environment is due to the ‘Carbon-Emission’ simultaneously along with the 'Deforestation' taking place widely indiscriminately around the world, which is not only resulting in depletion of oxygen and ozone reserves of the earth, but also the irregularities in the rain pattern, rise in global temperature and natural calamities. In this connection a strong and stringent agreement has to be brought out.

Need to check unruly elements in  Parliament

There is no end to pandemonium, on this pretext or that, by the Congress in Parliament. The Ethics Committee of the two Houses and its recommendations are absolutely to no avail. Bharat will have to give a try to what recourse the USA has taken to in such matter. There, attempt to stall proceedings of Senate or the House of Representatives is deemed contempt of the House that invites criminal proceedings culminating in an year's imprisonment of the concerned member/s of the Congress. This has been acting as a deterrent to the unruly elements in Parliament. There is also need to prune powers of the Upper House which is, being not elected directly by the people, is little or not responsive to the current mood of the electorate as expressed by the directly elected lower chamber. In UK, the House of Lords, and in Italy the Senate have power to delay a legislation passed by the Lower House maximum by one year, that is to say they don't have a permanent veto just as the Rajya Sabha has it in Bharat (except, of course, in case of Money Bills). This is most desirable at the moment.
