RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the National Flag at Dr Ambedkar Vanvasi Kalyan Trust in Surat, while Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi hoisted the Flag in Agartala, Tripura. Saharkaryavah Shri Datta Hosabale and Dr Krishna Gopal were also present at the function in Agartala.
Speaking at the function in Surat Shri Bhagwat described it as the day for every one to take a pledge for the growth and prosperity of the nation. This is the day when people keep away their differences of caste, creed, community, besides the political differences, and salute the tricolour unitedly. He said the people should take pride in this unity in diversity and strive towards increasing the glory of the nation as well as humanity.
Explaining the significance of the National Flag he said, “There are three colours in the National Flag with a dharma chakra in between. The dharma chakra tells us that we all should live for the enforcement of religion in the country and that we have to bring back the lost religion in the world. The saffron colour is the colour of sacrifice, credibility and knowledge. While white symbolises piety and purity of life, green is the colour of prosperity in the world.” He said on this day we should only remember the element of unity in diversity.
In Nagpur, route marches at two places were taken out by Vidarbha Prant Ghosh Swayamsevaks. The performance included various patriotic songs using the musical instruments. Thousands of people gathered to witness this event. n
Gita teaches not to run away from challenges: Mohan Bhagwat
“About 70 per cent of the problems we face in our lives will vanish if we follow the path shown by our saints and scriptures. The rest 30 per cent problems will get automatically resolved by the Almighty as the divine power is itself silently protecting us. Therefore, it is time to follow the teachings of the saints and scriptures in daily conduct,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a function organised in Surat on August 17. The function was organised by Subhmangal Foundation in the presence of Jainacharya Shri Abhay Devsurishwar Maharaj and many other saints. On this occasion Shri Bhagwat was gifted with a copy of the Bhagwad Gita written in a special ink made from gold by a Muslim artisan, Yunus Shaikh.
Shri Bhagwat said Gita teaches karmayog and its message is that one should not to run away from problems but to face them boldly. According to Yunus Shaikh 346 grams of 24-carat gold was used in writing the 168-page Gita which has 745 shlokas. “I have used herbs and 24-carat gold to write around 745 shlokas in 168 pages of the Golden Gita and worked on it for more than two months,” said Yunus Shaikh, a resident of Surendranagar town,” who has earlier written several books of Jains also. “I have also written many holy books of Jainism and Hinduism. ABVP voices against extending undue weightage to Urdu
A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) called on Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu-Kashmir Dr Nirmal Singh seeking his intervention towards unfair decision of the State Service Recruitment Board to give 30 marks weightage to Urdu in the screening test for Naib Tehsildars.
The delegation urged the Deputy CM to direct the SSRB to withdraw the unfair and discriminatory order with regard to tthe candidates of Jammu region. ABVP State organising secretary Pawan Sharma said the provision gives undue advantage to the competitors from other parts who are fluent with reading, writing and usage of Urdu and simply looks like a ploy to shun out the youth of Jammu region from competing at the same level. He said youth of Jammu region do not study Urdu. Hence they would be unable to compete. This has generated a lot of resentment among the youth. n

A total of 921 delegates from 338 villages attend two day Gram Vikas Varga at Bagalkote, north Karnataka
The two-day Gram Vikas Sangam was organised at Bagalkote in north Karnataka from August 15 to 16. A total of 921 delegates from 338 villages of north Karnataka attended the camp. The unique conclave was organised by Gram Vikas Vibhag, RSS north Karnataka. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Mangesh Bhende addressed the workers at the concluding ceremony. Kshetra Pracharak Shri Shyam Kumar was also present.
On August 15, the camp for comprehensive rural development was inaugurated by veteran organic farmer Shri Tammannappa Budni. At 7.45 am, the National Flag was hoisted, participants offered salutes to the tricolour. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Gram Vikas Pramukh Dr Dinesh and Prant Sanghachalak Prof Khageshan Pattanashetty spoke on the occasion. Various sessions were organised for entrepreneurs Training session, success stories on rural development, videos of sewa activities, inspiring social projects, few personalities who are successfully heading rural development projects, special initiatives like ‘my village, my dream’ were introduced to the participants.

Dattopant Thengadi Jeevan Darshan to be released on August 30
The first two volume of the total nine-volumes Thengadi Samagra published by Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will be released at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi by RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. Titled as Dattopant Thengadi Jeevan Darshan, the Samagra is in Hindi and is being edited by senior BMS worker Shri Amarnath Dogra. The Samagra has been published by Suruchi Prakashan. The forward to the first volume has been written by veteran Sangh Pracharak Shri Ranga Hari. The publication coincides with the 60 years of BMS.
According to Shri Amarnath Dogra, the third and fourth volumes are in the process and will be released on birth anniversary of the late Thengadiji in November this year. The first volume carries the life sketch of Thengadiji from his childhood to forming the BMS. The second volume carries the speeches delivered by Thengadiji in the initial training camps of BMS and also his views on economic policy, politics, etc.
