Despite heavy rains in the national capital for two days, the Virat Hindu Sammelan organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on March 1 proved to be a big hit. Amidst rains the groups of youth and women moved towards the Stadium raising slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Jai Shri Ram’, etc.
Addressing the Sammelan RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni called upon the Hindus to come forward to resolve the challenges the country is facing. He said the country cannot stand as a power without unity and returning to the moral and spiritual values.
VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia gave the slogan of safe Hindu, prosperous Hindu and respectful Hindu. “The VHP wants that every person gets meal, every child gets education, every family gets a house and ever youth gets an employment. The VHP is working in that direction. The fact which cannot be ignored that prosperity of Bharat lies in the prosperity of the Hindus,” Dr Togadia said adding that lakhs of people have been benefited by the ‘Hindu Helpline’ and this scheme will be implemented to the local level also.
Shankaracharya Swami Vasudeva-nanda Saraswati termed conversion as a sin. Jain Muni Tarun Sagar Maharaj also stressed the need to curb conversion and bring back those who have been converted. He said love jihad will lead to black future, as it is a conspiracy to make non-Muslims as Muslim. Dr Subramanian Swamy said democracy and secularism can survive in the country until Hindus are in majority. He said Hindus lost 42,000 temples but we want only three temples.
VHP Golden Jubilee celebration Committee national president Dr Veerendra Heggade said all saints in the region should unite to make the Hindu society stronger. Pejawar Swami Sri Vishwesha Theertha also addressed the gathering. The grand procession as part of the Samajotsav was flagged off by the VHP leaders Shri Ganesh Rao and Shri Vijanath Shetty along with Odiyoor Gurudevananda Swamiji by releasing balloons in the air at Ambedkar Circle. The city was virtually saffronised by banners and flags. The procession comprised tableaux and other decorations. —Organiser Bureau
A three-day International conference on “the Relevance of Yajna for a Healthy Society’ was held at Veda Vijnana Shodhasamsthanam at Channenahalli in Bengaluru from February 27 to March 1. Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) organised national Proudh Sankar camp from February 28 to March 1 at Annavaram Village of Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. A total of 573 delegates participated from all states. Sri Sri Swamy Paripoornandji Maharaj applauded the BVP for conducting such a useful programme every year for senior citizens from all over the nation. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Bauddhik Pramukh Shri Bhagiahji motivated the participants for playing more pro active role in inspiring the young generation and devote more time in local sewa projects run by the Bharat Vikas Parishad. He suggested to change the name of the annual camp as Proudh Sanskar Sadhana Shivir. National Vice President Shri B Ch Subba Rao, National Secretary Shri SN Pandaji were also present.
