News Round-up: Restore values to bring out thesociety from oblivion—Mohan Bhagwat

“The Hindu society needs to re-establish the values and samskars in their heart to bring out the society from oblivion,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a Sant Samagam in Jaipur on February 24. Saints from all over Rajasthan attended the Samagam.
Shri Bhagwat further said the society trusts the voice of the saints and the saints can awaken the society through their strength. He said whatever the saints do for awakening the society draws positive result.
Earlier, Shri Bhagwat addressed a gathering at village Bajhera, 8 kilometers from Bharatpur where he inaugurated ‘Mahila Sadan’ and ‘Sishu Bal Griha’ for helpless women and children. “There are several kinds of ‘sewas’. One way is to cater to whatever basic need is missing in the needy. Second way is to show the way to fulfill the missing needs. This is like the difference between teaching a man to fish instead of giving a fish to a man to fill his hunger. Third is to teach a man as to how he can teach everyone the way to fish. In this way there will be no need to serve anyone as everyone will cater to their own needs. Fourth is to organise for one of these i.e. either arrange for the fish to be fed or arrange for teaching of ways to fish or see to it that everyone in the country learns to fish so that no one is hungry. This will happen when we feel that the needy are my own people and my life is for one’s sake. To create such persons who think like this is most ideal way of service,” he said.                                                   —Bureau Report

Need to promote simplicity of Shastriji: Mohan Bhagwat

RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat appealed to the countrymen to emulate the simplicity of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. He was releasing a book Bharat Ratna Lal Bahadur Shastri in Varanasi on February 19. The book has been authored by Dr Neeraja Madhav. RSS Kshetra Pracharak Shri Shivanarayan, Prant Pracharak Shri Abhay, Prof Shraddhananda, Prof Kumud Ranjan and many other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
“Throughout his life Shahstriji worked for betterment of the nation and his slogan Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan brought massive revolution in foodgrain production in the country,” he said.                                                                        —Bureau Report

He gave life to many before dying
Shri Vir Bhan Choudhary retired as a vice principal from a Delhi school 18 years ago. He was a social activist and worked for various causes through RSS, Arya Samaj and associations of Government teachers, senior citizens and pensioners. His family includes his wife Smt. Satyavati Choudhary and five daughters. He had the satisfaction of giving good education to all his daughters. Following difficulty in breathing he had to be admitted to Orchid Hospital of Janakpuri on February 14. The doctors declared him brain-dead on February 16. His daughter Dr Lalita Makker, and wife decided to donate his organs. The family contacted Shri Ashok Ahuja of Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti and he coordinated the donation with AIIMS. The body was shifted to AIIMS at 11.45 pm on February 17. His eyes, kidneys and liver were transplanted to the needy patients. Cement the spirit of oneness: Bhaiyaji Joshi

“Bharat without Arunachal Pradesh is crippled and Arunachal without Bharat is non-existent,” said RSS Sarkarya-vah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi, while addressing a huge gathering at Art and Culture Ground in Naharlagun on February 23. He said Bharat is a land of vast diversity and this diversity is the richness of our country. Rich are those who have more and poor are those who have less. When Bharat has more varieties, it is indeed our richness. We have to find out and cement the unique spirit of oneness that runs in the veins of all Bharatiyas and take the country forward. He said almighty has blessed Bharat with abundant resources and instilled our intellect with a generous mentality to use it for betterment of humanity. “The RSS believes in and works for taking this mission forward by intensifying the unifying force of spirit found in all the Bharatiyas irrespective of their languages, believes, customs and traditions. If the basic Hindu philosophy of respecting other faiths in equal term is accepted the roots of terrorism, environmental degradation and economic hegemonisation will evaporate,” he said. Senior advocate Shri Pritam Taffo said openness of our mind, acceptance and assimilation of different thoughts has been the strength of the Arunachalees, which of late is on the verge of slight change from its original ethos. Novel on Deendayalji

Shri Gulrej Sheikh has written a novel, Rajneeti ke Sant Deendayalji as a tribute to Deendayal Upadhyaya. The novel was released in Delhi on February 20 by the RSS National Executive member Shri Indresh Kumar. Describing integral humanism as the real philosophy of life Shri Indreshji said Deendayalji lived for others. BJP MP Shri Prabhat Jha said anybody who reads Deendayalji can never feel depressed. Shri Muzaffar Hussain suggested the people to read and emulate the novel.

BRMS recalls Vajpayeeji’s contribution in granting voting right to Rail workers
Bharatiya Railway Mazdoor Sangh (BRMS) while congratulating Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee for Bharat Ratna recalled how his intervention as Prime Minister helped BRMS in getting recognition. Former BRMS president Shri Mahesh Pathak said the matter of recognition was delayed due to political reasons for many years. When Vajpayeeji as PM inquired about it he found the claims of BRMS correct. He then termed the delay as atyachar (atrocity) and ordered for correction. After getting recognition the BRMS leaders accompanied by the then president Shri Girish Awasthi, former presidents Shri Rajkrishna Bhakt and Shri Hasubhai Dave, and Shri Amaldar Singh called on Vajpayeeji for granting the right to vote to rail workers.
