Baburao Paldhikar remembered
Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti observed 94th birth anniversary of RSS Odisha founder Baburao Paldhikar in Bhubaneswar. Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Saroj Mitra of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch. He spoke on how Paldhikar spread Sangh work in the State and how he focused on development of local leadership.
Social activist Shri Gopal Prasad Mohapatra recalled Baburao Paldhikarji’s ideal personality. He said the way Shivaji vowed to protect the nation, religion and its culture, Baburaoji followed Shivaji to protect the nation, its culture and religion. He marched ahead in good times and never broke down during harsh times. He was never seen getting angry as he always keeps himself busy with work for the society. Netaji was ‘Independent India’s first chief’
“Netaji Subash was the first chief of Independent India which was accepted by Japan, Germany, Russia and 10 other countries. He was also the first chief of Independent India’s Army,” said senior RSS Pracharak Shri Indresh Kumar. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of RSS youth camp in Bhubaneswar on January 23. More than 1,500 youths, aged between 15 to 35 years participated in the camp. Shri Samir Kumar Mohanty, Sah Prant Sanghachalak and Dr Basanta Kumar Pati, Sanghachalak of Bhubaneswar Mahanagar were also present on the occasion. Shri Indresh Kumar further said Indian politics would have been different, had Netaji been present for the past 60 years. Knowingly, life history of Netaji’s, Veer Surendra Sai’s, Swami Vivekananda’s were kept in dark. Dr Ram Gopal is no more
Senior Sangh Pracharak Dr Ram Gopal Gupta passed away in Kolkata on January 22. He was 61. He was diabetic and for the last six months was suffering from kidney ailment. In last days tuberculosis made the situation complex.
He as Kshetra organising secretary of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. Born on May 10, 1954 at Sahabad in Rampur District of Uttar Pradesh, he became a Sangh Pracharak after completing BAMS. Initially he worked as a doctor for few days at Talasari in Thane, Maharashtra. Then he was posted at Rebhalkona, a remote village of Odisha. Then he worked as organising secretary of Odisha. He worked there for long 14 years. He worked in Assam for six years as organising secretary. He reinforced the work in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Silchar etc. Since 1998 to 2006 he was organising secretary of Arunachal Pradesh as well as Assistant Zonal Organising Secretary. He gave good direction to the unparallel work of preservation of Indigenous faith of Janjati communities which was started by Talum Rukbo and Dwarakacharyaji. He faced many challenging situations in north-east during his 14 working years. In the year 2008 he got new responsibility of Zonal Organising Secretary of Eastern zone. His simplicity and honesty influenced everybody.

Hindus focus more on duties: Mohan Bhagwat
“The definition of ‘dharma’ is related to the duties of the individual, society and the rulers. It does not relate to any specific mode of worship or sectarian attitude. It encompasses the entire humanity besides all living and non-living beings,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while delivering the “Bhausaheb Bhuskute Memorial Lecture in Timarni, Madhya Pradesh on January 22. The late Bhuskuteji was the first “grihastha pracharak” of RSS who dedicated his life to spread the mission of RSS in the then ‘Madhya Prant’ including Odisha.
Shri Bhagwat described the late Bhuskuteji as a sterling example of transparent, honest and studious life. He was very studious and well versed in Hindu ethos. He dedicated his life to the service of the nation and adhered to the path of truth, knowledge, work and devotion.
Delivering the lecture he said in Hinduism dharma is normally understood as duties. For example, children have their duty towards parents, the rulers have their duty towards the subjects, and to study is the dharma of students, and so on.
Besides, the term dharma also denoted those activities through which an individual seeks his or her reunion with the ultimate reality. But the scope of dharma cannot be limited to ways of worship.
On the occasion a book Hindu Dharma Manav Dharma written by the late Bhuskuteji was also released. The book was introduced by Dr Sadanand Sapre of Pragya Pravah and the views of senior RSS Pracharak Ranga Hariji are also included in the book. —Bureau Report
Bringing Nagarvasis and Vanvasis closer
Every year Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad Hyderabad organises a two- day Nagarvasi-Vanyatra, which enables the urban dwellers to have first hand experience of the service projects run by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. This year the Yatra was organised from January 17 to 18. A total of 64 persons from 26 families, including 20 children, joined the Vanyatra into the deep forests of Warangal. Most of the families were from RSS IT Milans and Balagokulams run in Hyderabad.

Nadu hoisted the national flag at Sakthi Prant Karyalaya. Many people including Sah Prant Karyalaya Pramukh Shri Jyothi were present on the occasion. Prant Vidyarthi Pramuk B Prakash addressed 150 students of 'Vivekananda Youth Forum' at Sri Muthukumaran College of Arts and Science at Mangadu.
