The combo of three books on Dalits titled; Hindu Charmakar Jaati, Hindu Valmiki Jaati and Hindu Khattik Jaati written by Dr Vijay Sonkar Shastri, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson was released by Sarsanghachalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat at NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi on September 7.
The function was snowed under the presence of Union Minister of Human Resource and Development (HRD), Smt Smriti Irani; Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar with President, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ashok Singhal; Director, All World Gayatri Pariwar Dr Pranav Pandya.
Speaking at the function, Bhagwat said that, “Dalits have been oppressed through ages and now society must be prepared to give reservation in education and jobs to them. Those who should get must get reservation till they are brought forward for harmonious blending.”
“The upper caste must reach out to the Dalits and the Dalits must also take up the hand extended to them and become part of the mainstream. They can no longer be kept away from opportunity and fruits of development,” he added.
Ashok Singhal said, “The Dalits of today were militants and marshal communities who, as prisoners of war, unjustifiably became communities that came to be discriminated against. The discrimination against them was a social issue which had to be eliminated by society itself.”
“The recent Lok Sabha elections saw the demolition of barriers of caste and religion,” said Javadekar, adding that the new aspiration is for change and development.
Congratulating Dr Sonkar for his research and release of the books, which will grow understanding of Casteism among people and help them to eradicate this social evil, Smriti Irani added that, “This change will come through education.”

RSS Meet at LudhianaThe Akhil Bharat Prachar Pramukh, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Manmohan Vaidya, along with 32 senior leaders has gathered at Doraha near Ludhiana to participate in the five-day long (September 8-12) annual national meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Sangh. The alarming Vishwamitri River brimmed over in Vadodara, leaving several areas of the city in waist-deep water on September 10. Over 20,000 persons were evacuated to safer locations across the district due to the flash floods. In Vadodara city, 12,761 were moved to safer areas while 9,528 from villages were relocated.
