An incident of a minor girl allegedly kidnapped and forced to embrace Islam after being abduct and married has come to light in Mirjnanhaat area of Bhagalpur district on September 2.
According to a report, the victim was on her way back home when she was kidnapped. The accused after transforming the victim into Islamism tied a knot with the girl and threatened her into prostitution if she showed any kind of resistance. The victim has alleged that she was pushed into reading the Quran, and fed things against the Hindu tradition.

Police officers said quoting an First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the mother of the minor victim that she had gone to her ancestral village Dhuwabe in Bhagalpur district to attend a ceremony on April 30. There she was abducted by four boys and taken to Patna, New Delhi and then back to Bhagalpur where one of the boys married her, police said quoting the FIR.
The girl was rescued by the police on May 24. According to the FIR, the minor escaped from the house where the boy’s family lives and told her mother that the boy had lied to her about his religion and that she was forcibly converted after being beaten up and tortured. She was also threatened that she would be sold in a red light area and her family members would be killed, police said.
According to the sources, there are approximately 40 such cases in Bhagalpur district itself. Prantiya Sangathan Mantri of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Anil Kumar Singh has allegedly stated that the administration of the state is trying to cover up the issue but if they will not take serious action against this, there will be severe results.       —Sanjeev Kumar from Patna
