Shaheed, Swaraj Dweep Samooh Naman Yatra by FINS

$img_titleForum
for Integrated National Security (FINS) urged the Government of India the take all possible steps to help the inhabitants of Andaman and Nicobar islands realise that they are not the descendents of criminals, but of the freedom fighters and patriots. It also said that the Government should take initiative to establish industries and generate employment there.

Since the place has a great potential becoming a trading hub like Hong Kong, it should be developed as a tourist spot, as it would boost the economy of the region. Oceanographic and Maritime study should also be encouraged.

These demands were made after a delegation of about 100 activists visited the islands from December 29, 2013 to January 1, 2014. The trip was organised to commemorate the declaration of Independence and hoisting of Indian flag here by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on December 30, 1943.

It is to be noted that Andaman & Nicobar Islands rechristened ‘Saheed, Swaraj Dweep Samooh’ by Subhash Chandra Bose on October 21, 1943. It was the first liberated Indian territory, where Netaji hoisted Indian National Flag. He gave this name because freedom fighters were sent to these Islands for life imprisonment and many of them were hanged. According to Hindu history, the original name of these Islands is Hanu Dweep because Lord Hanuman stopped over here before going to Lanka with Sanjivani for Laxman.

During the yatra, the group visited Cellular Jail, Viper, Ross Island and Havelock Island. A meeting with local inhabitants was organised at Kerala Samajam, Port Balir after speech by senior RSS functionary Shri Indresh Kumar. The public was exhorted about their lineage and informed that they were the descendants of freedom fighters and not of criminals. The group returned to their respective destinations on January 1, 2014 after performing Samudra Pooja on December 31, 2013.

The FINS also said that the Vanvasis, staying in the islands be protected against exploitation by unscrupulous elements and tour operators. Marine life should also be protected. Fishing industry should to be further developed. Since the islands is very close to other nations like Indonesia, Myanmar etc. and is on the Bharatiya Ocean, the importance of security of the islands cannot be over emphasised.

The islands is secular in its true sense. Father is a Bengali, mother a Muslim and the child a Hindu. One has never heard of communal riots. Leaders of all religions fought together for the freedom of the nation. There is a need to further develop basic infrastructure like schools, colleges and health centres etc. The Islanders should also be provided subsidised air force on the lines of North East Bharat and Lakshadweep. The Islanders should be compensated at the earliest for the atrocities committed by Japanese during world war II.

This group of Islands is 1303 km from mainland Bharat. Besides beautiful beaches and islands, it is also known for Cellular Jail, where convicted freedom fighters and other criminals were imprisoned and tortured, never to return home. It is a group of 572 Islands, out of which only 37 are inhabited. It is also famous for its scenic beauty and is a great tourist attraction.

Seminar on ‘Indo–Chinese Strategic Aspects’ by FINS in Cuttack

Boycott Chinese goods—Indresh Kumar

$img_title“China is becoming major threat to India and India should gain strength militarily and economically to face these challenges. Indians should boycott the Chinese goods to give befitting reply to China,” said senior RSS Pracharak Shri Indresh Kumar, while speaking at a seminar organised by FINS and Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch in Cuttack on January 13.

Shri Indresh Kumar further said, “China was never our neighbouring country. Tibet served as independent buffer state between India and China. But in 1954, the then Prime Minister Pandit Nehru accepted sovereignty of China over Tibet. Its immediate consequence was China’s attack on India in 1962. It was a Himalayan blunder from Indian side. Since then our northern borders have became insecure.”

He said if we want our northern borders secure and to avoid another Chinese attack then India should try her best to solve the Tibetan problem according to satisfaction of Tibetan putting diplomatic pressure o China. Unfortunately, India is still avoiding to face the Tibetan issue just to appease China. If our borders are not secured than everything will be insecured in  the Country, he said. Coming down heavily on the Central Government he said in the name of secularism UPA Government is playing with the security of the country.

He said the FINS has become the largest group of security experts in the country and more than 4000 security experts are now associated with it. Major General BK Mahapatra, Dr Pravat Kumar Mishra, former Principal of Revenshaw College and senior journalist Pratap Mohanty, secretary of Odisha Chapter of FINS also spoke on the occasion. Col KM Acharya presided over the seminar.

Angered over negative coverage  of Saifai carnival SP government bans news channels

Angered by the TV channels constant telecasting of the dance performances by film stars at Saifai Mahotsava enjoyed by the duo Mulayam and Akhilesh, the UP Government banned two channels  Times Now and India News through cable operators. However, the government was forced by the media community to lift the ban and they did it. “The telecast of Times Now and India News has been stopped across UP because the CM got offended by their negative coverage of the Saifai Mahotsav,” cable service consumer protection committee’s Ambika Prasad Ojha said.

The UP Government has given no official reason for blacking out the channel for 36 hours. Times Now and Hindi news channel India News were unplugged by cable operators, some of who confessed that they were acting on an informal government order. There was no official word on what led to the blacking out of the channels.

A cable operator, requesting anonymity, confirmed that the two channels were blocked following phone calls from senior officials. Similar phone calls went to operators in other UP cities as well, he said.

Everyone condemned the government orders because it was reprehensible and uncalled for. The Minister for Information and Broadcasting said, “We will take action if the channel complains to us. The complaint will be considered on merit, and if any illegality is found, we will take strict action against the erring MSOs (multi-system operators)”, he added.

The UP Government has been under severe attack from the media for holding a grand and expensive carnival at Saifai, the home town of the Mulayam Singh Yadav clan, at a time when thousands of riot-affected poor people have been left to fend for themselves in the bitter cold in Muzaffarnagar.

However, Samajwadi Party (SP) spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary defended the government and said the allegations of blacking out certain television news channels were incorrect and could have been caused by “some technical error.”      (Dr Shakti Kumar Pandey from Lucknow)
