Bharat Parikrama Yatra to enter Haryana on September 24
RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat joined the yatra on September 8 in Seekar district of Rajasthan. Shri Bhagwat echoed the aims and concept of the Yatra, which is aiming to uplift the rural Indian life. Shri Bhagwat stressed on conservation of water, soil, cow and all forms natural resources. He also wished Shri Kedilaya for the successful completion of the yatra. This is the second visit of Sarsanghachalak Shri Bhagwat, who had earlier joined the yatra in January this year at Panvel, Dadra Nagar Haveli.
The 66th annual Ganeshot-sava, organised at Sanghani-kethan by the Keshav Smrithi Samvardhan Samithi, Mangalore, concluded on September 13. The event attracted a large number of devotees. The concluding procession began from Sanghanikethan in the evening around 6pm and passing through Mannagudda, Barke, Carstreet concluded at Maharaja Temple Lake near Car Street, where the idol was immersed. The festival began on September 9 and held for 5-days with cultural activities. The tradition of celebrating Ganeshot-sava at Sanghnikethan, the RSS Headquarters of coastal zone, began in 1948.

Onam celebrated with a difference in Kochi
Swayamsevaks dedicate a new house to the family of a martyr swayamsevak
RSS swayamsevaks in Kerala celebrated Onam in a different way this year. They remembered 23rd martyrdom year of an RSS activist Anil Kumar, who was murdered by anti-national elements in 1991. Few swayam-sevaks built and dedicated a new house to the family of Anil Kumar. RSS Prant Pracharak Shri Sudarshan and other top RSS functionaries also attended the ceremony. (VSK Kerala)
Senior RSS Pracharak and Uttar Kshetra Pracharak Pramukh Dr Krishna Baweja died in an accident on September 18. He was in Una (Himachal Pradesh) when the bike on which he was going skidded and he received internal injuries in his chest. He was immediately rushed to civil hospital Una, where the doctors attending him suggested to shift him to Chandigarh. When he was being taken to Chandigarh in an ambulance he developed complications near Shri Anandpur Sahib where he was admitted in the SGPC hospital. He breathed his last at the Anandpur hospital.
He was cremated in his parental place in Sonepat (Haryana) on September 19. People from many organisations and also the swayamsevaks from different places reached Sonepat to pay their last respects to the Sangh Pracharak. Prominent among them were senior Pracharak and former Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh Shri Premchang Goel, Akhil Bharatiya Sahsampark Pramukh Shri Arun Kumar, Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt, Kshetra Karyavah Shri Sitaram Vyas, Kshetra Pracharak Shri Rameshwar, Sahkshetra Pracharak Shri Prem Kumar, Shri Kripa Prasad of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Kulbhushan Ahuja. Haryana Prant Sangha-chalak Major (retd) Shri Kartar Singh, former Health Minister of Delhi Dr Harsh Vardhan, Sardar Chiranjiv and Shri Avinas Jaiswal of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, Akhil Bharatiya Sahkaryavahika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti Sushri Rekha Raje, Shri Pawan Kumar of Bharatiya Mazadoor Sangh, national general secretary of the ABVP Shri Umesh Dutt, etc. Born on September 24, 1949, Dr Baweja did PhD in Mathematics. Prior to becoming a Pracharak he taught at the Hindu College of Rohtak and DAV College, Chandigarh. He became a Pracharak in 1980 and held different responsibilities in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi. He was a Bauddhik Pramukh in Punjab, Sah Prant Pracharak in Delhi and Prant Pracharak of Haryana for many years.

Across the nation, RSS swayamsevaks, well wishers and thinkers of different spectrum remembered former RSS Sarsanghachalak the late KS Sudarshan on his first death anniversary on September 15. Born on June 18, 1931, Kuppalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan, became the fifth RSS Sarsanghachalak and served from 2000 to 2009. He was considered to be one of the greatest known Hindutva ideologue in India.
On September 14, when victorious Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidate Chandan Singh Bist in Government Post-graduate College, Ramnagar, Nainital, came out in a huge procession, a vast majority of ABVP activists and other supporters were chanting slogans in favour of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi. Earlier, it was understood that ABVP candidate Chandan Singh Bist was a week candidate, while the NSUI candidate Lalit Mohan Pande had been pouring money on the college voters lavishly. But in the election Chandan Singh Bist garnered 1,524 votes against 1,153 votes garnered by his NSUI rival Lalit Mohan Pande, defeating him by a margin 371 votes. This college is affiliated to Kumaon University; out of 31 colleges affiliated to the university, this is the first college where the student union result has been declared and where the ABVP has emerged victorious.
It was a wave of Vinayakas in Tamil Nadu last week. At over 50,000 places, huge Ganesha idols were installed and worshipped for ten days. Following that they were immersed in the nearest sea, river or lake. Of course, Hindu Munnani began this social revolution. But several other outfits and groups of Ganesha devotees have taken it up to give it the shape of a festival encompassing the entire society as years go by. Tirupur, a district place, witnessed 700 Ganeshas being installed and immersed. Over 100 people were arrested for trying to take out Ganesha immersion processions. Also, Shri Rama Gopalan of Hindu Munnani was arrested when he tried to go in a procession carrying a Ganesha idol in a ‘sensitive’ route in Chennai, where 1,400 Ganeshas were installed and immersed this year. In this way, for the last 30 years he is fighting to assert the ‘right of way’ for Hindus along the public streets of Hindustan. (VSK Chennai)
Training camp of RSS Prachar Vibhag in Dehradun
RSS Uttara-khand Prachar Vibhag organised a day training camp for the activists on September 15. Workers from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Roorkie, Vikas-nagar and Dehradun Mahanagar attended the camp, which was inaugurated by Shri Ashutosh Bhatnagar, Director Prerna Meida Research Institute, Noida. He said the media activists are different from common readers who generally see what has not been printed or telecasted on the television or radio. He said the media is an effective tool which should be used for publicising our views. BJP MP Shri Tarun Vijay also spoke on the occasion. He stressed the need to use the social media with caution. About 70 activists attended the camp.
