Rajya Sabha Petition Committee under the leadership of Chairman Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari met Acharya Vijay Ratnasundersuriji Maharaj near Raipur in Chhattisgarh on June 4 to discuss about his petition on cyber pornography. Shri Ratnasundersuriji Maharaj had filed a petition before the Petition Committee seeking ban on cyber pornography. During the discussion the leading Jain saint explained the whole issue before the committee and said cyber pornography is damaging the entire young generation and it is the root cause of growing crimes against women in the country. He asked the petition committee to cite even a single reason as to why the cyber pornography is not banned in the country as it has been banned in many countries of the world including USA, UK, Australia, France.
“We expect good results from the young generation. But before that we have to think what we are giving them. If the input is good only then we can expect positive output. But in the case of cyber pornography we are only poisoning the young minds. Then how can we expect them to think positive,” the Jain saint told the Committee, which gave him a patient hearing. The report of the Committee is expected to come shortly.
