Petrol Prices skyrocketing

Petrol prices were hiked by Rs 1.55 on July 14; this is the fourth hike in petrol prices in past six weeks. Since the falling value of rupee has made the imports costlier the oil companies have increased the cost by Rs 1.55 excluding local sales tax and VAT. Actual price will vary from city to city varying upon the local taxes; and will be higher. Earlier on June 1, the prices were raised by 75 paisa, then on June 16 Rs 2 per liter was increased and on June 29 it was increased by Rs 1.82.
