Dr Umesh Patri Memorial lecture in Cuttack

Samanwaya Nanda

Bhubaneswar:  Former Union Minister and Janata Party  President Dr Subramanian Swami, emphasised  the need of the   Hindu Vote Bank  to overcome  the challenges before Hindu society, while speaking at the first ‘Dr Umesh Patri  Memorial Lecture’  at Kalabikash Kendra, Cuttack.  The programme was organised by VHP magazine Hindu Shatabdi and the topic of the lecture was ‘Present challenges before the Hindu society and the agenda for the future’.

“The damage which had been done  to the  Hindu society during the eight hundred years of slavery under the Islamic rule  and   almost two hundred years suppression under the  Christian rule is quite less than that compared to the damage done by so-called secularists after the independence of India. So the need of the hour is to unite Hindus and to create Hindu  vote Bank”, Dr Swami said.

“Though Hindus contribute more than 80 percent  of country’s total population, anti-Hindu activities are still going on rampantly. These types of activities can only be checked if Hindus  are united”, he added.

Dr Swami said that the theory of Aryan Invasion was propagated by British to divide the country. Now it is proved that this is a myth.  He came down heavily on the government for not protecting Deva Bhasha Sanskrit.

The guest of honour of this programme, VHP National Vice President Jagannath  Sahi  said that Hindu and Bharatiyata  are synonymous and there is no difference between these two words.

Eminent trade union leader Shrikanta Brahma also spoke on this occasion. Chief editor, Hindu Shatabdi, Dr Raghunath Mahapatra presided over the  meeting and Deepak Kumar Mahanta also conducted the programme.
