When you buy a new PC, you would expect it to be a really clean, healthy and fast device. In most cases you would be wrong. All the new PCs sold in the market are bloated with unwanted stuff, software, games, widgets, apps, etc. You are never going to use this bloatware in your entire life. The bloatware is there in the PC for the simple reason that the PC maker is paid certain amount of money to put it there.
All major PC makers are guilty of inserting bloatware into the PCs that they sell. At times the bloatware is configured to launch itself the moment you boat your system. As a result of bloatware your PC will run slowly from day one, and over a period of time its performance will keep declining. One way of getting rid of bloatware is to go to the Control Panel and identify the software that you don’t need. You can use the uninstall facility in Windows to get rid of these software. However, you have to exercise care to ensure that in your zeal of getting rid of bloatware, you don’t remove any software that you may actually require.
It is a difficult and time taking task to pick up each and every bloatware and remove it through the Windows Uninstaller. A better way is the PC DeCrapifier. This free tool can be downloaded from http://pcdecrapifier.com/. Using this programme is exceedingly simple. All you need to do is run it. The PC DeCrapifier does its removal work automatically. There is a wizard style interface to help you choose and remove the garbage clogging up your computer.
You can choose the option that allows you to have control on the programmes that are removed and those that are retained. You will be shown a checklist of programmes that PC DeCrapifier thinks you should remove. You will even get a list of the top programmes that others have removed. For a full list of the programmes that are going to be removed, you can point your browser to http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/removes. While using the programme it is also a good idea to tell it to create a system restore point, just in case it removes something that you wanted to keep.
Once the unwanted programmes have been removed from your system, the PC DeCrapifier will give you a list of programmes that continue to be there. You can go through the list and if any other unwanted programme is left behind, you can select it on the PC DeCrapifier interface or remove it manually through the Windows uninstaller.
One good thing about the PC DeCrapifier is that it is also a portable tool. It does not rely on any other frameworks to download before using. Just run it right off a portable USB drive. There is absolutely nothing to install. And in case the PC DeCrapifier is unable to remove a particular programme, you can use the normal Windows Uninstaller to do the job. You can also go for the commercial version of the PC DeCrapifier, which comes at the cost of around Rs. 1,500.
