Wireless router for home users

Most home users of WiFi would he having the WiFi router that they got from their service provider. But unless you go in for a really pricey package, the service provider is not going to install a high-end WiFi router at your home.

Most home users of WiFi would he having the WiFi router that they got from their service provider. But unless you go in for a really pricey package, the service provider is not going to install a high-end WiFi router at your home. The router that you will get will be low-end and it will not be able to cover your entire house. It makes no sense to go for a higher package and get stuck with high broadband charges for many months. Instead, you can choose to buy a wireless router from the market.

Here is a list of some good options:

Cisco Linksys E4200 v2

If you have a high budget, you can go in for the Cisco Linksys E4200 v2. This is a high performing dual-band wireless router especially designed for wireless home network. This router is powered by a fast 1.2 GHz processor, which offers wireless speed of 450 Mbps. The router has a sleek-looking design and offers excellent performance on both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz network bands. Along with the device Cisco offers an app called ‘Cisco Connect Express’ which allows you to access the router from mobile devices like iPhone or iPad.

D-Link DSL-2750U

D-Link is, as you know, one of the biggest brands for routers and modems. This WiFi model comes with latest ADSL2/2+ standard and provides Internet transmission of upto 24 Mbps downstream, 1 Mbps upstream. It is compatible with 802.11n/g/b wireless devices. The extra benefits of this router come in the form of firewall protection, user access control, WPA/WPA2 wireless security, and priority queues. It has 4 LAN ports, one WAN port, and one USB port. D-Link gives much more importance in giving better security for their devices and that is the reason for why their products are having higher security features with a strong firewall protection.

TP-LINK TL-WR740N

Available at a really low price, this wireless router offers 150Mbps wireless data rates, which is quite sufficient for ordinary video streaming, online gaming and Internet calling. Wireless security encryption can easily be achieved at a push of QSS button. There is feature for IP based bandwidth control and seamless bridging to expand your wireless network. You can easily cover a normal 500 square yard house with this router.

Netgear JNR1010 N150

N150 Wireless Router-JNR1010 has an external antenna which gives you better and enhanced WiFi coverage. It has a Power and WiFi On/Off buttons to save energy. The NETGEAR genie® app can easily connect to the iPad, tablet, computer or  a smartphone. It also has a personal dashboard that allows you to administer, observe, and fix your home network problems easily. This router also has Live Parental Controls that can be easily filtered through customised settings. Its FastLane gives increased Internet speed with one press push button to handle emergency tasks. For increased performance it has Five Fast Ethernet Ports (1 WAN, 4 LAN).  For security measures it has a WiFi Protected Access, Double Firewall Protection (SPI and NAT firewall), Denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevention.

Asus DSL-N10E Wireless-N150 ADSL Modem Router

This is a highly efficient and eco-friendly router. Compared with Generic Wireless-N Routers, the ASUS ECO-WiFi CPU reduces up to 72 per cent of energy consumption and utility cost. Simply press the WPS/WiFi button on your ASUS router to instantly turn WiFi on or off and easily save energy with no long set-up or menus. The set up is extremely fast, and the router is easily able to cover your entire house. The data transfer rate is of 150 mpbs.
