Sarabjit’s trauma—A reply to the hanging of Kasab and Afzal Guru I personally feel that since Pakistan was under tremendous pressure from all fronts to release  Sarabjit who was imprisoned in Pakistan because of mistaken identity, Pakistan adopted a new form of hanging of Indian prisoners. It is a method in which the Indian prisoners are left at the mercy of Pakistani goons who thrash Indian prisoners to such an extent that  they become  completely disabled ( brain dead) or die. This  method is not only barbaric but  also challenges all human sensibilities. The same trick was applied in case of Sarabjit. Thy handed over Sarabjit to Pakistani goons who thrashed him in the most gruesome manner to the extent that first he became brain dead and finally after battling for life for 6 days he expired. Point to be  noted is that guards on duty in the jail did not intervene and the blame of the incident has been put on co-prisoners. In this way their mission has been accomplished. On the other hand we Indians spend crores on the   upkeep of the  terrorists. Who can forget what Kasab and Afzal had costed to the Indian exchequer? The saddest point is that we can only express our grief but are unable to do  anything because India is  governed by UPA which does not take a tough stand on these issues. Infact Dalbir Kaur sister of Sarabjit has rightly said, yeh mitti ka khilonae hai, yeh kuch nai kar sakta hai. Shak hota hai Hindustan sarkar ki niyat  par. (They are dummies, they can’t do anything. I suspect the intentions. Are the two governments hand-in-glove?). Infact she has rightly said both the countries were trying to extract election benefits—India by hanging Kasab and Afzal Guru and Pakistan by ‘plotting’ the attack on Sarabjit. If these incidents  continue to happen then Aman  ki asha  will only remain an asha.

Karnataka Cow Bill-2010 Though BJP led Karnataka Government have passed two Cow Bills in 2010&2012 respectively,we feel disappointed that none of the Bill has been provided assent by Central government. We earnestly request the BJP led Karnataka Government to formulate another Cow and Cattle Bill and pass the same in the Assembly and forward it to the Central Government for its assent. The Bill should clearly state that all ages of Cow and its progeny shall not be slaughtered including bull and ox.The definition of ‘Beef’ should be restricted to the meat of cow, bull and ox only. We request the  State and  the Central Government to join hands and implement the same, leaving aside any type of petty politics, in the welfare of our country.

Idol worship saves man from egocentrism Shakil Ahmad in a letter titled ‘Momentous significance of Hindu demise’ in the Readers’s Forum page of Organiser dated 17.3.2013,  says that if a society believes in polytheism and indulges itself in
idol worship it means that it is collectively chasing a mirage of the so-called deities. But idol worship is one of the many modes of worship in Hinduism and in Hindu philosophy each and every person is an entity. His views are echoing the ingrained abhorance of the exclucivist school of thought.  In a  unitarian thought there exist diverse manifestations of God in various images.  It saves the soul of man from monotheism of conscience and egocentrism. Imagination itself establishes special relationship with the matter and spirit.

The front page of the issue has been done beautifully signifying that Hindutva is on rise and the youth  of Bharat will help to achieve this  objective. Kettle calling the pot black Self proclaimed and self styled empire of the so-called secularists which consists of Lalu, Paswan, Mulayam Singh, Mayawati, Karunanidhi and Nitish Kumar are humbly requested to define the terms secular, secularists, communal and communalists, immediately. Since last several years these terms have become matter of hot discussion in Indian political scenario. Even after lapse of 67 years of Independence no concrete definition has been given to these terms. The advocates of these terms have shamelessly used the terms to blame the Hindu  organisations as communal and anti-secular. In case  GoI defines these terms in the real sense the communal  Congress Party will bag the first prize. If GoI decides to put the ban on communal parties, it should first ban the Congress Party. Blaming Hindu forces as communal by the Congress and it allies is as good as kettle calling the pot black. According to anti-Hindu forces opposing Hindutva  and appeasing Muslims is secular in the real sense.

Hindu prosperity will lead to world prosperity (Organiser, 21.4.2013)I was quite impressed to read the news titled ‘Hindu prosperity will lead to world prosperity’ in Organiser, regarding the inauguration of a memorial hall in the memory of  Bhaskar  Rao. He being one of the oldest batch of pracharaks in Kerala  had great commitment to expand Sangh work in that State when the people there  were of  Congress and Communist mind set. It was a toughest period for  the pracharaks to change their wrong notion on RSS. I had the privilege of hearing his speeches whenever he visited Cochin sakha. He was quite close to every swayamsevak, giving his advice on different matters and also grooming new fulltime pracharaks.On reading the article in the said issue, my memories went back to that happy period of 1950s. The hall in his memory is the apt respect to a great soul.

Why to criticise Modi? Recently Seema Mustafa criticised Narendra Modi as she feels that Modi failed to stop riots on time in the year as back as 2002. In this connection  I want to make one thing very clear  that Gujarat is not the only State where riots took place and many died. In this connection one should not forget ugly chapters in Indian history of communalism, genocide, etc for about a thousand years and the resultant Partition and also subsequent developments. Still secularism succeed without any shadow of doubt since India does have the overwhelming majority of Hindus.  Gujarat at the moment is the best administered and most developed State of the country. Then why should we dig ugly days of the past and belittle development. Does it help the country? It will be far better for the interest of the country to exhibit as to how Gujarat shows the way.

The west is obsessed with Islam, because of pain it gives to them (Organiser,  31.3.2013) This  refers to the article, ‘The west is obsessed with Islam, because of the pain it  gives to them’ by Dr. Jay Dubashi in Organiser. This article is full of contradictions and illogical views. It is a fact, that Islam is giving  pains, not only to the west, but everywhere in the world, including India the worst sufferer. So what is wrong, if the West is so much concerned about it? They are not stupid like the Hindus, who go on praising Islam. Every time they indulge in terrorism, we immediately issue a certificate, that these are acts of individuals and terrorism has no religion, and Islam teaches peace and brotherhood. Through the article Dr Dubashi is requesting Muslims for good behaviour which is an utopian concept. He writes that future of Indian Muslims “is tied up with the future of Hindus” and persuades Muslims by giving  example of “future of Blacks in America”. He forgets that Blacks and Whites, both are Christians. Blacks were suppressed by Whites, whereas in  India, Muslims suppressed the Hindus for centuries, and still treat them as kafirs.

One 1,000 rupees silver coin to commemorate 1,000 years of Brihadeeswarar Temple Recently, RBI released a 1,000 rupee silver coin  to commemorate 1,000 years of the Brihadeeswarar temple in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Parliament had approved a Bill in 1975 to mint coins up to denominations of Rs 1,000. The government never issued coins worth more than Rs 150. This is absolutely a great moment in history, for which the 1,000 rupee coin has been released and this is the first time in history that the Mumbai Mint has issued the silver coin of Rs 1,000. The coin, weighs 35 gm, contains 80 per cent silver and 20 per cent copper.
