?The man or rather the “baba”, Rahul Gandhi who had disappeared from the scene when  the nation was outraged over the brutal gangrape of the 23-year-old girl  took over as  vice-president of the Congress and pitched for positive politics and promising to make the  party an “instrument of change” and more accessible to both the youth and the  experienced. Regretting that the current environment in politics was “extremely  acrimonious”, the 42-year-old boy asserted that negative politics would not take this  country forward. Incidentally Rahul Gandhi was “shocked” when a well  wisher showed  him the negative comments he had been showered with in the social media. However, the  youth icon of the Congress is now planning to take on Gujarat chief minister, Narendra  Modi. For the Congress, “Modi is Rahul’s worst nightmare.”

Congress gag on social media

Talking about Twitter, the  announcement by Congress Party to appoint Rahul Gandhi as  the Vice President of the party was received by scepticism on the social network. The micro  blogging website, Twitter, was full of tweets mocking the Congress leader. The Twitteratti  started the trend of Rahul Gandhi as PM on Twitter. The hashtag received a lot of flak  from the Micro-blog users.  We produce some of  the tweets: Ekita parmar ?@ekita_parmar; RT “@akshayerathi: Rahul Gandhi as PM and KRK for National Award! #SameThing”; Subhankar @discoverSuvo; We just cant imagine Rahul Gandhi as PM.Rahul Gandhi is only good in playing Ludo. 🙂 Aditya Ganesh @adityaganesh “Rahul Gandhi as PM” trending on twitter – of course, as a joke!! TARUN JOSHI @Tarun4Joshi; Rahul Gandhi as PM will address nation on Cartoon Network Ekita parmar ?@ekita_parmar; RT”@RUCHIR2511: Having Rahul Gandhi As PM is Like Having Sunny Leone Brand  Ambessador For Sanskar Chenal.” ; santosh kumar ?@san4net #Rahul Gandhi as PM , this is the best thing that BJP can hope for. Smirk_Ninja @Smirk_Ninja; Rahul Gandhi as PM is like asking my 2 year old nephew the state of India’s economy.  And his gaga boo boo talk makes more sense; Chintan ?@chinty88; Rahul Gandhi as PM….Okay now I’m sure the world is coming to an end; CA Manish Kumar @manishkumar_ca; Rahul Gandhi as PM….. !!! Rahne do RAHUL, tumse nahi ho payega; Rizu @shauryaritwik; Congress is nominating Rahul Gandhi as PM with the same zeal Feroze Khan launched  Fardeen Khan in Prem Aggan. The Rest is History.

Mamata”s anti-Congress stance

$img_titleWest  Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee took her anti-Centre tirade to a new low by  using language no CM has ever used against the Prime Minister. Giving vent to her  frustration over the state’s financial troubles, Mamata said at a public rally: “I personally  met the Prime Minister at least 10 times. What else can I do? Shall I go beat him up? Then  people will call me a goonda. Anyway they call me that. But I don’t care. I can go to the  very last for the people.” Of course later she clarified her remark by saying : “What did I  say? I said, I met Prime Minister seven-eight times regarding financial position. I can only  meet and talk in a democracy, cannot hit. What is wrong? I did not say that I will beat  him up.”

Air India in the doldrums

National Carrier Air India may be heading for trouble, with the airline’s union pilots—who fly domestic-routes—likely to threaten a strike in protest at not being paid their flying allowances for the past few months. The pilots have convened emergency general body meetings in several cities across the country on Thursday where they are expected to take a decision on whether to issue a strike-notice to the management. However, an Air India official, when contacted, said efforts were being made to find a solution and expressed confidence that there would be no strike.

Judgemental error

In a shocking incident, a judge in Gonda district has been accused of molesting two girls  in separate incidents in his chambers. The incident reportedly took place on Monday after  which the girls have lodged complaints with the police saying that the judge made them  undress and touched them inappropriately. The judge told the girls that he was trying to  determine whether they were minor or not.The girls had allegedly eloped and their families  had lodged cases of kidnapping and the two had been summoned to depose before the  court and record their statements.
