Congress communal card After the drubbing in Gujarat, alarm bells have begun ringing at the Congress  headquarters. The party is now apprehending a similar electoral debacle during the  assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh next year. Devoid of any election plank, the Congress  has began playing a communal card. In its official briefing, the Congress cautioned that  Madhya Pradesh might become another Gujarat, if BJP was voted back to power for the  third consecutive time.  A desperate Congress, which was rapidly losing its image  nationally is seeking a plank to take on the MP chief minister, Mr Shivraj Singh. Incidentally hit by rising rape cases in the national capital and cornered by public fury, the  Congress is planning to  make rape cases in MP as one of its election plank. “We do not  have any major issue right now..we are looking for one,” a senior Congress leader said.

BPL Muslims top pro-Muslim states The states, which have been projecting themselves as pro-minority top the  list of  having  maximum number of Muslims in  BPL category. These states include Assam, Uttar  Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar. These four states comprise 60 per cent of the country’s  Muslim population.  Among the states, which have lowest percentage of  Muslims in BPL  category include two non-Congress ruled states, Tamil Nadu and  Karnataka. Third is the Congress ruled states-Kerala. It now goes on to show that all  these chief ministers, who have been crying hoarse over the plight of the Muslims in the  country have not been so effective in dealing with the minorities in their home states. The  UP is led by the messiah of the Muslims-Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh  Yadav. Their rival is another leader of the Muslims-the BSP supremo, Mayawati. And of  course the Congress has always been trying to lead the minorities of the country. Assam is  ruled by the Congress chief minister, Mr Tarun Gogoi.  On the other hand while Tamil  Nadu is ruled by AIADMK boss, J Jayalalitha (who attended oath taking ceremony of  Narendra Modi in Gujarat) Karnataka is a BJP ruled state. Despite ignoring the minorities  the chief ministers belonging to the secularist club continue to shed tears for the plight of  the minorities.

DD pays for PM gaffe The national broadcaster Doordarshan has suspended five of its staff members after they  failed to reach the venue on time to record the Prime Minister’s address to the nation on  Monday on the Delhi gang rape case. Sources said that Doordarshan has also ordered an inquiry into the issue after it  created a controversy as a television agency aired the PM’s speech with editing errors.  Two camera persons and three staff members from the engineering department had been  suspended after they turned up late for the recording. The speech was then recorded by  television newsagency ANI, which was also present for the purpose. However, the telecast  of the speech on newschannels in its unedited form triggered a controversy as the PM  was heard saying ‘theek hai’ (alright) at the end of his address. The editing error was later  corrected. Incidentally the suspension of the five personswas not related to the telecast of  the unedited speech but for not reaching the venue on time. The recording of the speech  had taken place at around 9.30 am but the camera crew of the Doordarshan managed to  reach at 9.40 am while the engineering staff arrived a few minutes after 10 am . An official  said that crew found it difficult to reach by 9.30 due to traffic restrictions on important roads leading to 7, Race Course Road, residence of the  Prime Minister and also because they had been called to come at short notice.  But then  when did this government listen to the aam aadmi ?

Mirchi bombs and current torches In a bid to maintain law and order at  Kumbh Mela that begins next month, the UP police  have decided to use mirchi bombs and current torches to control the crowd.  The Mela  administration in Allahabad is expecting close to 3 crore devotees on the bathing days and  some special measures are being taken to avoid any untoward incident during the event,  The mirchi bomb causes irritation and subsequently flow of tears from the eyes of trouble  makers. The police feel it will help in stopping crowds from moving in a particular  direction. Similarly, the current torch is another innovative device to disperse the unruly  gathering as when its lights is thrown at somebody, he will experience immediate shock  and will run away from the site.  However, some feel that using these device on the crowd  could boomerang and could cause a massive stampede. “ Millions would be there at  Kumbh  and uses these could be dangerous,” an official said.

Z-plus UPA vendetta Former Army chief, Gen. V.K. Singh, who participated in the public protest against the  brutal gangrape of the 23-year-old girl in a moving bus in Delhi has been stripped off  all  security cover.

The former army chief was provided Z ‘Plus’ security cover till November    Singh has been named in an FIR by the Delhi Police for his alleged role in protests.  The  former army chief was provided Z ‘Plus’ security cover till November  30 but in a review  meeting, the ministry of home affairs took a decision that he does not require any  protection .Gen VK Singh, who retired on May 31, was given a Z Plus security cover till  November 30 and he was allowed to stay in Government accommodation in Delhi  Cantonment area for one year after he had sought a nine-month extension from defence  minister AK Antony. The signal is clear. Any citizen, who dares to rise against this  Congress-led government would be targeted in any which way.
