This year, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists in Delhi celebrated Deepavali with the Hindu families of Pakistan staying here following atrocities on them by Muslim fundamentalists. On the occasion, yajna, satsang and dance were performed and the refugees were gifted with new dresses, fruits and sweets.
VHP state vice president Shri Braj Mohan Sethi said there is no meaning of celebrating Deepavali without stopping the Hindus being tortured, humiliated or their human rights being violated in any part of the world. “We appeal to Government of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to protect Hindu interest in their respective countries as the Muslims are protected here. They also appealed to the Government of India to grant permanent citizenship to all the Hindus sheltering in Bharat as per the Nehru-Liyakat Pact.
The yajna was performed by renowned Vedic scholar Smt Vimlesh Arya of Arya Samaj. All the Pakistani Hindus said they heard about yajna and Deepavali but never observed in Pakistan following persistent atrocities by Muslim fundamentals. “We are very happy today by celebrating our biggest festival for the first time in our life,” said Krishna Dass who left his whole property in Sindh province of Pakistan. Many state VHP leaders including Shri Karuna Prakash, Shri Vinod Bansal, were also present on the occasion.
